Your host breaks the painting into simple stages and talks you through every one, from the first wash of background colour to the last little highlight. In between, the singalong takes over. On our singalong nights that means live vocals on the mic, working through the decade on the ticket while the whole room sings back. The shell is the showstopper, a stained glass mosaic of rose pink, coral, orange and lime glowing out from a pale gold centre, every panel outlined in deep navy. A few bubbles float off into the corners to finish. It looks like hours of fiddly detail. It is not.
