What if I'm not happy with my painting at a paint and sip?
Honest answer: it almost certainly will not happen. But if it does, here is what to do.
Paint over it
Acrylic paint dries fast and covers cleanly. If a section of your painting is not working, paint over it with the background colour and start that section again. The host will help you if you are not sure what to cover with.
This is not cheating. This is exactly how professional painters work with acrylics. The medium is specifically designed for this. Nobody in the room needs to know it happened.
Ask the host to come over
Every Paint Juicy host circulates the room during the session. If something is going wrong with your canvas, wave them over. They have seen every possible variation of "it's not working" across hundreds of sessions and they know how to fix it.
This is part of what you are paying for. Use it without embarrassment.
Accept that your version is a valid version
The reference painting at the front of the room is one interpretation of the design. Yours is another. The differences are not failures - they are your brushwork, your colour instincts and your approach showing up on the canvas.
The rooms that laugh loudest at the end-of-session reveal are usually the rooms with the widest variation. The "mistakes" are often the most interesting canvases.
What actually causes dissatisfaction (and how we prevent it)
In four years and 42,000 guests, the most common source of painting frustration is rushing. Guests who skip a step or try to move to the next layer before the current one is dry end up with muddy colours and frustrated feelings.
Paint Juicy hosts manage the pace of the room deliberately to prevent this. We do not move to the next step until the room is ready. We remind people to let layers dry. We watch for guests who are ahead and slow and adjust.
This level of attention to the room is one of the things that differentiates a Paint Juicy session from a standard paint night.
What if you genuinely arrive and hate everything that happens?
In four years, this has essentially not happened. Guests who arrive sceptical regularly finish the session converted. The format, the host and the atmosphere do most of the work before the painting even becomes a factor.
If you do genuinely have a terrible experience at a Paint Juicy session, contact us. We take feedback seriously and the team will respond.
