What is a paint and sip event?

A paint and sip is a hosted group painting session where everyone creates a painting at the same time, guided step by step by an artist on the microphone, while music plays and drinks flow.

You arrive with no painting experience required and leave with a finished canvas you are genuinely proud of. That is the premise. Here is how it actually unfolds.

What happens before you arrive

The venue is set up by the Paint Juicy team before guests arrive. Every seat has an easel with a blank canvas, a set of brushes, a palette of paints in the colours you will need and an apron. You sit down to a fully ready workstation.

What happens during the session

The host artist welcomes the group, introduces the painting for the night and explains the format. Then the session begins.

The painting is broken into steps. Step one is usually the background. By step three you have the main shapes and colours laid in. By step five the detail is going on and the painting is starting to look like something. The host talks you through each step on the mic and moves around the room helping anyone who is stuck.

At a Paint Juicy session, the painting steps are interspersed with singalong moments and games. The playlist is matched to the theme of the night and guests tend to forget they are painting by the second chorus.

What happens at the end

The final step is usually highlights - the little touches that make everything pop. After that, the host calls time, asks everyone to hold up their canvas and the room cheers.

Then come the group photos, the comparisons, the "yours is so much better than mine" moments that are genuinely the best part of any paint and sip session. Canvases are bagged up to carry home. The Paint Juicy team packs down. Guests stay for another drink if the venue allows.

Who paint and sip events are for

Everyone who wants to be there. Paint and sip works for absolute beginners, occasional painters, people who are dragged along by their friends and people who have been to five sessions already. The format accommodates all skill levels without making any of them feel out of place.

It works especially well for groups - hens parties, birthdays, corporate teams, baby showers, girls nights - because the shared activity gives everyone something to do and talk about simultaneously. But it also works brilliantly for solo attendees who meet people in the room.

How long does a paint and sip event last?

Paint Juicy sessions run for 90 minutes to three hours depending on the format. The standard public session is two to two and a half hours. Private bookings can be adjusted to suit the event.
