Brisbane's grandest and most fabulous rainbow extravaganza is making a triumphant return nestled behind the iconic Wickham Hotel, the spotlight awaits! 🌈🎤
Picture this: A dazzling showcase of musical sensations, drag spectacles, and countless more delights, all rallying behind the fantastic causes of our local LGBTQIA+ heroes - ATSAQ and the LGBTI Domestic Violence Foundation.
Imagine going back in time to the year 2000, when Big Gay Day was born with a mission to celebrate and support the LGBTQIA+ community. Fast forward to today, and it's become Brisbane's ultimate street bash. They literally shut down an inner-city street just to make room for a colossal main stage that hosts a jaw-dropping lineup of LGBTQIA+ stars from near and far.
Think about it: A vibrant parade of performers, both local and international, all converging on Brisbane to create a rainbow-filled explosion of entertainment. It's a party so big that you won't believe your eyes!
Over the years, Big Gay Day has had an array of legendary headliners, from the iconic Boy George to Sporty Spice and the sensational Veronicas, who graced the stage in the not-so-distant past.
In 2022, Big Gay Day had a crowd of over 3,500 attendees, and they opened their hearts (and wallets) to make substantial donations to LGBTQIA+ charities like Diverse Voices and 2Spirits. The stages were alive with the likes of Vanessa Amorosi, Courtney Act, Faker, and a drag extravaganza featuring over 30 of Brisbane's fiercest and most fabulous drag performers!
