Everton Park 70s and 80s Singalong Recap

Everton Park turned it on for a 70s and 80s singalong paint and sip that felt more like a mini concert with brushes. We had just 75 people in the room, which was the sweet spot. Big enough for a roar, small enough that you could still yell across the table and be heard.

LIVE vocals by the lovely, Lotti

Lotti was on live vocals and she did what she always does. The venue left the doors open so her voice could travel through the whole place, and it did. Staff at the other end of the building were getting free chorus after free chorus while our lot belted out the big ones inside. Add in karaoke moments where brave souls grabbed the mic and joined in, and it was chaos in the best way.

Multi-artist stations for extra help

Two artist stations meant no one missed a thing. Whether you were down the front or tucked at the back, you could still see the steps, follow along and then ignore them when you felt like going rogue. People painted, laughed, swapped colours, compared progress and used the breaks between layers to head to the bar.

Speaking of, the food and drink were working hard. Platters, snacks, cold drinks and that steady stream of “just one more” topped up through the night. It was not a sit-in-silence, delicate-sip type of session. It was people clapping mid-song with a brush still in hand, friends harmonising badly and strangers becoming table mates.

By the time we pulled everyone in for the final lines, the room was warm, loud and full of canvases that actually looked great. Some stayed loyal to the demo, others did their own twist and a few went completely off-script, which we love. That is the point. It is your night, your art and your story to hang on the wall.

If you missed this one, keep an eye out for the next Everton Park Paint and Sip or jump into our Brisbane Paint and Sip collections. This pocket of the north side knows how to turn a “little paint night” into a proper event.
