Valentine's Day dinner is a trap. Set menus, queues, $90 a head, an hour and a half across the table from each other. Paint Juicy is the opposite of all of that. You walk in, sit down at your easel, music starts, the host gets on the mic, and three hours later you have laughed more, talked more and actually had a proper night together. Plus you walk out with a finished painting that becomes the Valentine's Day souvenir you put on the wall, not a receipt for $180 worth of average pasta.

Every session is hosted live by a real artist who walks the room with a microphone. Every step is guided so even the most 'I cannot draw a stick figure' guest leaves with something worth hanging on the fridge. Singalong moments and trivia are baked in throughout, partly because they are riotously fun, partly because they let the paint dry between layers. A lot of our Valentine's Day sessions are booked by friend groups doing Galentine's, by single mates who refuse to spend the night being miserable about it, by mums groups using it as an excuse for a night off, and by work crews who use it as a casual February team night. The session is for anyone who wants to spend Valentine's Day having fun instead of forcing the traditional version. Couples are welcome. So is everyone else.

For private bookings we can come to your venue, your favourite bar, your local bowls club, even your backyard if there is power and a roof. We bring the whole show. You bring the people and the playlist requests. Custom artwork is available for an additional quoted fee if you want to paint something specific to the group.

Frequently asked questions

Is this only for couples?

Not at all. Galentine's groups, single mates, mums groups, work crews and friend groups all book Valentine's sessions every year. The night is for anyone who wants to enjoy February 14 instead of dreading it.

Do we have to paint matching canvases?

Some couples paint the same artwork side by side, some paint completely different canvases. Both work. The host will guide whatever you decide on the night.

Do I need to be able to paint?

Not even a little bit. Our host artist walks you through every brushstroke. People who have never picked up a brush leave with something they are proud of. People who already paint leave with a sore face from laughing. Both win.

How long is a session?

Three hours from start to finish. Long enough to settle in, enjoy a few drinks and properly enjoy the night. Short enough to be home at a reasonable hour.

What is the age policy?

Most public Paint Juicy sessions are 18+ because the venues are licensed and the playlists get cheeky. Some sessions are 12+ with a paying guardian present at all times. Nude life drawing and bottomless sessions are strictly 18+. Check the individual session listing for the exact age policy.

Can I book a private session?

Yes. Private bookings start at $700 flat for the first 10 guests and $65 for every guest after that, with a minimum of 10 paid seats. Get in touch with the date, the rough headcount and the location and we will sort it.

What if I am the only one in my friend group up for it?

Solo guests are super welcome at every Paint Juicy session. Plenty of people come on their own and leave with new mates. The room is friendly, the host is on the mic, and nobody is left in the corner.
