Hervey Bay Hotel Aussie Rock Paint and Sip Recap

Hervey Bay Hotel, you booked it out and then blew the roof off. Figuratively. The wind outside was having a red hot go at the literal version.

This was an Aussie Rock Paint and Sip with a packed room, a koala on every canvas and a crowd that turned up to let loose. True blue energy from the first brushstroke to the last big chorus.

Some nights are a quiet paint. This was not one of those nights.

The artwork: the koala, because it does not get more Aussie

We painted our koala, which felt exactly right for an Aussie Rock night. True blue, beginner friendly, and forgiving enough that everyone walked out genuinely chuffed with what they made.

Some koalas came out sweet, some came out a little unhinged, and every single one had its own personality. That is the fun of it. Same steps, completely different results.

A crowd that found the dancefloor early

Let us be honest, this crowd was bonkers, in the best possible way. Loud, fun and completely up for it. Have a look at the video and you will spot the dancefloor getting a proper workout and the karaoke moments well and truly going off.

This is exactly why we stay in the high energy lane. It is a night out, not a sit down class, and Hervey Bay understood the brief instantly.

Meanwhile, outside

It was wild out there. The wind was howling and the poor lorikeets were clinging to the palm trees for dear life, hanging on the best they could while we stayed cosy inside with the music up and the drinks flowing. Sorry little fellas, you should have booked a ticket.

The team on the night

Lotti Rem was on the mic, James kept the room hosted and moving, and Trent led everyone through the painting step by step. Add the Hervey Bay Hotel's dedicated bar, which we genuinely love working with, and the whole night ran like a dream.

We had such a good time that we were completely buggered by the end of it. So we left our gear set up, went home to collapse, and rolled back the next day to pack down. Worth every minute.
