Lismore 80s 90s Paint and Sip Recap

Lismore, you beautiful menace. We rolled into town for an 80s and 90s soirée with a cap of 50 and somehow still ended up shoulder to shoulder. Cosy. Worth it. Absolutely.

Our latest Van Gogh inspired sunflowers were the brief and everyone brought the A game. Neon, leg warmers and a bit of rocker chic turned the room into a time warp. Singing was not optional. It was compulsory. Cocktails and cold ones kept spirits high and, thank every weather god, the air con was working hard. The drizzle made the night humid as anything, so no wigs for us, but the vibe was pure nostalgia heaven.

Extra sweet bit. This one was a proper mates’ night. Susan and her crew from Trent’s side, Marissa and her legends from James’ side. Hugs, kisses, loud choruses and a lot of love in the room. We get asked all the time what our gigs are like. They are messy in the best way. Paint on aprons. Voices a little hoarse. Canvases you are proud to hold up. People who arrive as strangers and leave as mates.

Bit of life admin from behind the scenes. Bert and Penelope had a luxe night in with Pamela, complete with bush walks and cuddles. Also a massive thank you to Susan who turned up with a bag of salted macadamias from her organic farm near Alstonville. Honestly the fastest way to our hearts is snacks and sentiment.

Both of us have lived in Lismore at different points, and it still feels like home every time we come back. This town has heart. It shows up, sings loud and paints even louder. We are lucky to call so many of you friends.
