Wyong Paint and Sip Recap: Sunflowers and a Windy Van Gogh Sky
Wyong really said: “Let’s add a little weather chaos and see how you cope.”
We rocked up to Wyong Golf Club ready for a gorgeous sunflower session, only to discover the night before had dumped a heap of rain, there was isolated flooding around, and several of our canvases got wet.
So naturally, we did what any calm and stable business would do: mad dash to buy more canvases before the session. Casual.

What we painted: Sunflowers with a Van Gogh-inspired sky
This artwork was pure joy.
Bright sunflowers up front, then a Van Gogh-inspired windy sky behind them, full of swirling movement and little dot details that make it feel alive. It’s the kind of painting that looks impressive even if you swear you “can’t paint”, which is convenient because half of you say that and then immediately produce something stunning.

The pre-session chaos (and why it didn’t matter)
Between the wet canvases and the road conditions, it could’ve turned into one of those days where everything feels slightly cursed.
But Wyong did what Wyong does: showed up, rolled with it, and got straight into having a good time.

Venue shoutout: Wyong Golf Club
Wyong Golf Club has a massive function room with a big stage, which is great for a Paint Juicy setup.
Only plot twist: the heavy rain had blown up the air conditioning in the function room, so it was a little warm. Not unbearable, just… that “why am I glowing?” kind of warm.
Luckily the drinks were flowing, the laughs were loud, and everyone survived with their dignity mostly intact.
Quick clarity, because expectations are where joy goes to die: drinks are available to purchase from the venue, not included in your ticket.

Wyong, you made it magic
Even with the weather drama and the warm room, this one landed beautifully. Great energy, gorgeous paintings, and the kind of crowd that makes the whole thing feel easy.
If you were there, thank you for bringing the vibe and for not panicking while we played “replace the wet canvases” like it’s a sport.

Keep an eye out for the next Wyong Paint and Sip. We’ll bring the paint. You bring the chaos, but maybe leave the floods at home next time.
