Paint and Sip Night at Robina Town Centre
Robina does not always get the loud applause on the Gold Coast highlight reel, but the night Paint Juicy rolled into Robina Town Centre, the place sang. Easels lined up under the centre lights, sparkling wine doing the rounds, and a room full of locals discovering they could absolutely paint, thank you very much. It was one of those evenings where the suburb quietly outperformed the postcard spots, and we have not stopped recommending it since.
This was our run of paint and sip nights for the Robina Town Centre Spring and Summer All Access Event, and the brief was simple. Bring colour, bring the party, give the regulars something they would still be chatting about on the school run a week later. Reader, mission accomplished.

The Town Centre crowd is a mixed bag in the best way. Mums on a long-overdue catch-up, a hens table flexing matching tiaras, a couple of mates who came for one drink and stayed for three layers of acrylic, plus the inevitable curious passers-by who wandered over to see what the noise was about and ended up grabbing a brush. That blend is exactly why these big public takeover nights work. Nobody feels out of place because everyone is figuring it out together.
The night, the brushes, the bar tabs
Once the music kicked in, the room found its rhythm fast. Our hosts walked everyone through the painting step by step, no pressure, no perfectionism, just clean instructions and a few cheeky one-liners between layers. Sparkling wine kept circulating, snacks kept appearing, and the conversation hum got louder with every coat of paint. By the time the canvases hit the gallery wall moment at the end, the smug look on everyone's face was honestly our favourite part of the whole gig.
Half the magic of a centre takeover like this is the energy of being surrounded by other shoppers and diners as the night unfolds. You catch people stopping mid-stride to watch, point at the canvases, and quietly decide they are coming to the next one. That word-of-mouth ripple is gold for a venue and it is exactly why Robina Town Centre has stayed on our list of favourite Gold Coast partners.
Why Robina is a paint and sip mood
Robina is one of those Gold Coast suburbs that quietly does everything well. Big enough to feel busy, small enough to feel familiar, and always a few minutes drive from whatever else you might want. It is residential without being sleepy, and it has the kind of mix that suits hens parties, birthdays, milestone catch-ups and the classic Friday-night-out-out, all in the same postcode.
The crowd we see at Robina sessions is genuinely all over the map. Crew of girlfriends turning thirty for the eighth time, a corporate group blowing off steam after a long week, a mum-and-daughter combo doing a proper night out together, a hens table that came for the painting and stayed for the singalong. It is one of our favourite mixes because the energy stays high without anyone needing to perform. People come, paint, sing, sip, and leave with a canvas they did not think they had in them.

The shopping centre that doubles as a small city
Robina Town Centre is one of the largest centres on the Gold Coast and it has the floorplan to prove it. More than four hundred retailers spread across multiple precincts, plus dining options that genuinely do not compete with each other. The Promenade leans casual outdoor, The Kitchens leans foodie, the Food Atrium is fast and friendly, and you can absolutely build a whole Saturday around the place without realising the time has slipped past you.
Big names like Country Road sit alongside smaller boutiques you have probably never noticed, which is the dangerous and delightful combination that turns a quick errand into a full afternoon. Throw in a coffee or a cocktail at one of the dining precincts and you have basically pre-warmed yourself for the perfect paint and sip night. Win-win-wine.
Sport, golf and a stadium that knows how to throw a fixture
Robina is a sport postcode. CBUS Super Stadium sits right in the suburb, holds north of twenty-seven thousand fans, and is the home ground of the Gold Coast Titans. Across the year you will catch National Rugby League, Rugby Union and even A-League fixtures, plus the occasional sell-out concert that pulls a crowd from across South East Queensland. If you are planning a hens or birthday weekend that wants a Saturday afternoon match in the mix, the schedule honestly does the heavy lifting for you.
If clubbing a small white ball is more your scene, you are spoilt for choice in the area. The Glades Golf Club has the kind of fairways that look like a screensaver, and Palmer Gold Coast is right there for a hole-in-one fantasy you can dine out on for years. Both pair surprisingly well with a paint and sip night to follow. Swing in the morning, swirl a brush in the evening, sleep like a champion.
Food, family time and the bit the kids actually love
Eating around Robina is properly easy. Whether you are after a quick lunch between errands or a long dinner with a group, the dining options are stacked. The Promenade has the relaxed outdoor energy, The Kitchens has the chef-led foodie vibe, and the Food Atrium covers the fast and friendly end. Coffee runs are a non-issue, sweet treats are a serious threat to your willpower, and grabbing a meal pre-paint-night is the smartest move you can make.
If the kids are along for the day, the centre has its own backup plan. TimeZone keeps tribes of younger humans entertained for hours with arcade games, bumper cars, bowling and laser tag, which means parents can sneak a coffee or a cheeky retail wander while the chaos is contained in one room. Worth knowing if you are scheming a daytime visit before a night-out.
Coming back to Robina with Paint Juicy
The Town Centre All Access run was a moment in time, but Robina is firmly on our regular rotation for Gold Coast paint and sip nights. We pop up at venues across the suburb and surrounds depending on the calendar, and we love it for the same reasons the locals do. Easy to get to, plenty of parking, friendly faces, and a crowd that turns up ready to paint.
If you have not done a Paint Juicy night before, the format is simple. You grab a ticket, you turn up, you pick up a brush, and our hosts walk you through the painting step by step on the mic. Three hours, decent music, big singalong moments, beginner friendly the whole way through. You leave with a canvas you are weirdly proud of and a Saturday feeling that lasts well into Sunday.
Robina, you have been very, very good to us. From everyone at Paint Juicy, including Trent and James who still talk about the Town Centre takeover like it was last week, thanks for keeping the easels full and the energy higher. We will see you at the next one.
