How do I run a DIY paint and sip party at home?

Good news: you can absolutely run a paint and sip at home. Better news: you can also just call Paint Juicy and have us come to you, which means you get all the good parts without any of the logistics.

Both options are real and both are worth knowing about. Here is how each one works.

Option one: DIY paint and sip at home

If you want to run it yourself, here is what you need:

  • Canvases for everyone (20x25cm or 30x40cm works well)
  • Acrylic paint in a decent colour range
  • A set of brushes in different sizes per person
  • Easels or a way to prop canvases upright (books work in a pinch)
  • Water cups and paper towels per person
  • Old tablecloths or newspaper to protect surfaces
  • Aprons if you have them
  • A painting reference image or tutorial to follow
  • Music, drinks and people who are up for it

YouTube has a wide range of step-by-step painting tutorials designed for groups. Search for "easy acrylic painting tutorial for beginners" and look for something with clear stages that match your group's skill level.

The honest DIY challenge

Running a paint and sip as the host is a very different experience from attending one as a guest. You are managing the supplies, guiding the steps, keeping the energy up and trying to paint at the same time. It is doable, but you will spend most of the night working rather than participating.

This is why most people who want a home-based paint and sip eventually choose the second option.

Option two: Paint Juicy comes to your home or Airbnb

Paint Juicy is a fully mobile paint and sip business. We come to your home, your Airbnb, your backyard, your office - wherever you want the session to be.

We bring every single thing: canvases, paints, brushes, easels, aprons, water cups, tablecloths and a professional host who runs the whole session from start to finish.

You supply the space, the people and the drinks (home sessions are fully BYO). We arrive, set everything up, run the session and pack down completely when it is done. The only prep you need to do is confirm the event with your guests and decide what you are drinking.

What you need to have in place for a Paint Juicy home session

Enough space for everyone to sit at a table with an easel in front of them. Tables and chairs if available (we can discuss alternatives). A power point if needed for any equipment. If it is an Airbnb, just confirm your host is okay with a small event on the property.

Minimum 10 guests for private bookings. Enquire via the website for pricing and availability.
