What is a singalong paint and sip?

A singalong paint and sip is a guided painting session where the playlist is built around a specific musical theme and singalong moments are deliberately woven into the session by the host.

It is Paint Juicy's signature format and the reason the sessions feel like a proper night out rather than a quiet art class with a glass of wine on the side.

How it works

The host chooses a playlist matched to the theme of the night - 80s and 90s, ABBA, Aussie Rock, Movie Magic or whatever the session is themed around. The music plays throughout the session.

At specific points - usually during painting steps that have natural pauses, like waiting for a layer to dry - the host drives a singalong moment. This is not a request. The host will get the room singing. It happens every time, even with groups who arrive convinced they will not join in.

The singalong format is what makes Paint Juicy sessions memorable in a way that outlasts the painting. The canvas is a physical record of the session. The singalong moments are the emotional record.

Why singalongs work in a painting context

There is a reason the format catches people off guard. Most social settings that involve singing require either a stage, a microphone, a known social norm (sports chanting, birthday songs) or a lot of alcohol. None of these are necessarily in play at the start of a paint and sip session.

But painting removes self-consciousness. When your hands are busy and your attention is partly on a canvas, the social barriers that normally prevent people from singing in public lower significantly. The host reads this and times the moments accordingly.

By the third singalong, groups who arrived stone cold are belting out choruses. It happens every single session.

• Country music sessions at select venues and events

Public sessions are themed in advance - check the event listing for the specific theme.

Private bookings can request a specific theme from the available list.

Can we choose the singalong songs?

For private bookings, you can nominate a few songs or artists and the host will incorporate them where the format allows.

Public sessions have a preset theme and playlist. The host does not take requests during the session but they do know how to read a room and lean into what is landing.
