What should I wear to a paint and sip event?

The honest answer is: whatever you feel good in, as long as you are okay with the theoretical possibility of getting paint on it. The operative word being theoretical - we provide aprons, our artists are tidy, and most guests finish the night completely clean.

That said, there are a few things worth knowing before you decide on your outfit.

The only rule worth following

Do not wear anything you would be devastated to get a small splatter of acrylic paint on. Not because it is likely, but because acrylic dries fast and dried acrylic on fabric does not come out. This is not us being dramatic - it is just a sensible precaution.

Jeans and a casual top? Perfect. A cute going-out outfit? Also fine. Your grandmother's vintage silk blouse? Leave that one at home.

We provide aprons - so use them

Every Paint Juicy session includes aprons for every guest. They cover your front, they tie at the back and they do the job. Put the apron on as soon as the session starts and you are basically covered (literally). Most guests forget they are wearing one by the second song.

What to actually avoid

A few specific things that have caused guests regret in the past:

  • White clothing of any kind - even with an apron, why risk it
  • Very wide sleeves that dangle near the canvas while you paint
  • Your absolute favourite outfit that you would be heartbroken about
  • Very tall heels if the venue has uneven flooring - comfort over style when you're standing and sitting for a couple of hours

What works brilliantly

Casual is the sweet spot. Jeans, a nice top, sneakers or casual shoes. Comfortable enough to sit and paint for two hours but still fun enough that you feel good in the photos. Dark colours are your friend if you want peace of mind.

Some guests dress up, some dress down. Paint Juicy events are low-key enough that whatever you wear will feel right. The vibe is party, not premiere.

One more thing about hair

If you have long hair, consider tying it back or clipping it away from your face. It keeps hair out of wet paint and honestly just makes painting more comfortable. Not mandatory, just practical.

What about the venue?

Most Paint Juicy events are held at pubs, clubs or function venues with indoor seating. Climate is usually controlled. If you are attending a session at a private property or outdoor location, the event listing will mention any relevant details - just check that before you pick your outfit.

Bottom line: wear something comfortable, slap on the apron we give you and do not overthink it. The painting is the event. Your outfit is just what you wear to it.
