Every night's playlist is a little different, so treat this as the vibe, not the setlist.
Thursday night in the Nicholas Street Precinct, and the playlist has gone full 70s and 80s. Disco, big hair anthems, guided painting and a cactus canvas that turns out far better than you are expecting. Come for the painting, stay because you know every word.
Good to know: 18+ only. No BYO, bar and kitchen on site.

What this night is
This is not a hushed little painting workshop. This is a Paint Juicy night. Big energy, bigger music, and a room laughing at its own canvases by the second hour.
Your host guides every brushstroke on the mic, so nobody gets stranded at step four. The playlist runs from the opening song to the last detail, with natural breaks between layers to grab a drink, take photos and get your breath back before the next chorus lands.
Bring the group chat, bring your mum, bring the workmate who swears they cannot draw. Dress ups are welcomed and the 70s gear in particular never misses.
Ipswich is one of our regular rooms, so if this date does not suit there is usually another along shortly. Have a look at the other Ipswich paint and sip nights, or what is coming up across greater Brisbane and the rest of Queensland.
Tonight's Artwork
Prick My Interest
A desert sky that runs from deep teal down through orange into a wall of yellow, with a thin crescent moon and a couple of stars up in the dark and a row of saguaro cacti standing in front of it like they are queuing for the bar. The big one in the middle is yours to make as tall and as wonky as you like. Vivid greens over warm brown hills, a few smaller cacti out the back for depth, and nothing in it that a first timer cannot handle. This is the one where every canvas in the room ends up slightly different, which is half the fun of it.

"Fun and enjoyable night. For the amount of artist doing their paintings, the staff were very caring and professional. Would definitely do it again."

Before you arrive
Arrive a few minutes early. General Public Ipswich sits in the Nicholas Street Precinct with a bar and a kitchen on site, so get a drink sorted and find your seat before painting starts.
Wear clothes you do not mind painting in. We supply aprons but acrylic paint is enthusiastic and occasionally ambitious.
Dress ups are absolutely welcomed. Flares, sequins and anything your mum wore to a blue light disco.
Tickets are online only and they are not sold at the door, so book before the night.
Buying this as a gift? We have gift cards that never expire.
Buy a Gift CardHow the night runs

Host kicks off, playlist locked in, and painting starts step by step from a blank canvas.
Natural breaks for top ups, photos and a few choruses that get louder every round.
Final details, group photo, canvas wrapped. You go home with a desert on a canvas.
FAQs
Do I need painting experience?
Not at all. We guide every step from blank canvas to finished painting. If you last picked up a brush in Year 8, you are overqualified.
Is singing optional?
Technically yes. Realistically you will not resist. Expect call and response moments and choruses you forgot you knew every word to.
Is this good for a hens or birthday group?
Absolutely. Hens nights and birthdays are the two most common private bookings we run, and the guest of honour gets a shout out on the night.
Can I come alone?
Yes, and plenty of people do. We seat you with other friendly humans so you are part of it from the first song.
Can groups who book separately sit together?
Yes. Add a note at checkout with the name of your group and we will seat you together.
Can I BYO food or drinks?
No BYO. General Public Ipswich has a bar and a kitchen on site, so food and drinks are available to buy on the night.
Where do I buy tickets?
Right here on the Paint Juicy website. Tickets are not sold at the door, so book your seat online before the night.
Want a private session instead?
We run private paint and sip sessions for hens nights, birthdays and work groups. Minimum 10 paid guests. Enquire here.
