Why Paint Juicy CONNECT? Because Paint Juicy connects!

Queensland and New South Wales · 42,000+ guests · 4.9 stars on Google

Cairns spends most of the year looking after visitors. The nurse finishing a late shift, the deckie hosing down the boat after a reef day, the receptionist who has smiled through a dozen check-ins before lunch: this city runs on locals making somebody else's trip feel easy. So when those same women grab their sister and their oldest friend and book up to 3 hours of brushes, choruses and carrying on that belongs only to them, they protect that night. If you want to advertise in Cairns to the people who live here, spend here and tell every visitor where to go, that room is a very good place to be.

Paint Juicy CONNECT is the way a far north business joins those nights as something guests are glad to see, backed by a network of 42,000+ guests and some very loud rooms down the coast. The rules we play by, and every format in full, live on the Paint Juicy CONNECT hub.

No. 01

The rooms that went off down the coast, and the energy heading north

Paint's ticket sales for public nights, tallied up to 10/10/2026 across the last two years, tell you what Queensland does when a proper singalong rolls into town. Yeppoon filled one room with exactly 100 guests for the 80s and 90s on Saturday 01/08/2026. Bundaberg and Hervey Bay both reached 101 on Friday nights this year, and further south the numbers climbed, from 117 at Sunshine Beach to 151 for ABBA Live in Springfield, out in Brisbane's west. Those are the nights a sponsor dreams about, and the full rundown sits on the CONNECT hub.

That is the show Paint packs up and brings to the far north: the same hosts, the same singalong, the same rooms full of women who booked weeks ahead and came to make some noise. Locals check what's on in Cairns paint and sip when planning the next catch-up, and new far north dates are listed there.

Earlville and Smithfield, back in March 2027

Two Cairns nights are scheduled for 2027 and already selling: Earlville hosts the 80s and 90s on Friday 19/03/2027, and Smithfield the 70s and 80s on Saturday 20/03/2027, 6pm each. With tickets out, the wording and artwork are fixed, but a local business can still come aboard with a radio-style break, an opt-in demo bar, Town Pass offers or trivia prizes. Presenting a night, or a canvas carrying your brand, needs a date not yet listed, so talk to us early.

Three things the big rooms tell a Cairns advertiser

The 80s and 90s pull the crowds. Most of Paint's 100-plus rooms in that run were 80s and 90s singalongs, and that's the theme opening the Earlville night in March.

Paint goes where people live, not just into town. Trinity Beach, Smithfield and Earlville each have their own cafés, salons and gyms, and any of them could turn up at a night on its own doorstep.

Friday is the big one. Most of those standout rooms landed on a Friday, so a far north business backing the Friday 19/03/2027 night is backing Paint's favourite night of the week.

Who lives in Cairns when the planes fly out

Advertising money in this city often chases people who'll be gone by Sunday. Before you spend yours, it pays to know who's still here on Monday.

Around 175,000 locals, and a grown-up crowd

At the 2021 Census, the Cairns council area was home to 166,943 people. Half the town was 39 or older, and 50.7 percent of residents were women. Close to 65,000 residents were aged between 40 and 69, right in the heart of the age range that fills Paint's tables. Council's own economic snapshot now puts the resident population at more than 175,000.

It's a city of people who came from somewhere else, too. At the same Census, 69.0 percent of residents were born in Australia, and the most common overseas birthplaces were England, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and India.

Hospital corridors, hangars and hulls

Health care is the engine room. By Cairns Regional Council's economic development figures, no industry employs more people than health care and social assistance, at 19,531 jobs, followed by education and training (8,703) and accommodation and food services (8,451). Council also counts 8,141 tourism jobs, a figure it draws from a cross-section of industries rather than one standard industry of its own. Census night told the same story: 6.9 percent of working residents were employed by hospitals, more than any other single industry, and professionals were the biggest occupation group at 20.4 percent.

Council counts almost A$13 billion in economic activity each year and lists aviation, plus marine and defence, among its priority industries next to health, construction, tourism and education. In plain terms: shift workers, skilled trades, uniforms of every kind, and a lot of women who rarely get a night that isn't about someone else.

The visitor tide, and why locals are the quieter opportunity

Tourism Tropical North Queensland, the regional tourism body, counted 595,000 international visitors in the year to September 2025, staying 5.8 million nights between them. Great for the city, but hotel lobbies, tour desks and brochure racks are crowded with messages for holidaymakers. The locals who actually bank in Cairns, get their hair done in Cairns and send their visiting rellies to your door are a separate audience, and a far less crowded one to talk to.

Why Paint Juicy CONNECT? Because Paint Juicy connects!

In Cairns that line has a local twist. Picture a table at Smithfield: two theatre nurses, a flight attendant between rosters, a newcomer from Brisbane who only met the others at the gym, and a sister-in-law who swore she'd just watch. By the second song they're one table. The decade they grew up in does the rest. CONNECT lets a local business be part of that, at the moments that help the night rather than interrupt it.

Rain on the roof, a radio quote on the desk, and a quieter way to advertise in Cairns

Here's what most owners are thinking, so we'll say it for you. Radio in the far north is competitive and it isn't cheap, and you're bidding for the same breakfast slots as every other business in town. TV wants a production budget before anyone sees you. And the last Facebook post you boosted probably collected a pile of likes without moving the till.

Think about where your radio spot actually plays. In a ute on the Captain Cook Highway with the windows down, under a wet season downpour drumming on the roof, between a squabble in the back seat and the navigation voice announcing a roundabout. Music and words, and only if she's half listening. The feed is a thumb on a lunch break. Both have their uses. Neither lets her hold what you make.

We contain the noise. Inside a Paint night, everyone stays put for up to 3 hours with nothing pulling them elsewhere, and the network's biggest rooms have run well past 100. She paints your scene onto her canvas. She sips the drink you're pouring, on an 18+ night, with the venue's approval and under its licence. She hears your name in a station-style break between two songs she loves. She sees it on the screen and on the card by her brushes. She takes home a gift she can hold, and a voucher for something free chosen with her in mind, which could have her at your counter a week later. Paint's nights stretch across a huge slice of Queensland and New South Wales, and putting brands inside them like this is something we're pioneering.

Owners weighing up radio against a Paint night will find the longer comparison under small business advertising with Paint. For the bigger picture, read why Paint Juicy CONNECT contains the noise.

Building a far north night from the CONNECT menu

Everything a brand can do at a Paint night sits on the full CONNECT menu, from the airwaves and the screens to the gift bag and the canvas. Good local advertising in Cairns means choosing the pieces that suit a health-heavy, tourism-savvy, suburb-proud city. These are illustrations, not past clients.

A day spa on the northern beaches

Doors open at Trinity Beach, guests are hunting for their table, and the Paint radio session drops in a short spot in the spa owner's own voice, levelled to sit between two songs like a proper station break. Later a pamper corner offers hand massages while the first layer dries, and every gift bag carries a Town Pass page with a code tied to that night. Our event partnerships page shows how a spot gets made for the Paint radio session.

A Tablelands grower at the demo bar

Picture a coffee roaster or tropical fruit farm from up the range setting out an opt-in demo bar at Smithfield on Saturday 20/03/2027. Guests wander over between layers, try something grown an hour from their kitchen, and find a take-home sample in their bag with a code for the farm gate or the online shop. Tastings always need the venue's approval first. How samples, codes and the Town Pass booklet work is set out in product sampling and goodie bags.

A reef or rainforest operator, sold to the people visitors ask

Locals are the ones asked "which trip is worth it?" at every barbecue. A tour operator puts a day out as the prize for the sharpest table in the trivia round, a skill-based win, and every guest leaves with a card for a locals' weekday offer. Because Entertainment Juicy also runs the destination brand Cairns Tourism, the same conversation can pair the Paint night with destination content about the operator's experience. Our page on regional and touring campaigns covers how those combined campaigns are scoped and reported.

The Esplanade, the reef or the cane on the canvas

A Cairns business can commission a scene that belongs here: palms leaning over the lagoon at dusk, a reef in colours that make the Melbourne cousins jealous, rainforest tumbling down the range towards Kuranda. The brand sits in the picture as a detail, and every guest paints it and hangs it at home. Artwork locks before tickets go on sale, so this suits a night not yet listed. The design rules are on our sponsored artwork page.

Out of the room and onto the phone

Some brands want reach between nights too. A handful of newsletter ad spaces are sold on impressions, and labelled social collaborations keep a brand visible long after the canvases dry. When a product suits a moment, we film it on our own phones, mid-fun. Bespoke content is its own project, planned and produced alongside you. Each of these channels belongs to one of the hub's five big ideas, spanning the room and the phone.

80s and 90s in the tropics: why throwback brands fit Cairns

Nostalgia is what we make best; call Paint peak nostalgia makers and we won't argue. Each theme is designed to whisk a whole room back to its favourite era, and the March pair covers both bases: the 80s and 90s at Earlville, then the 70s and 80s at Smithfield. When the room hits the big chorus, a table of women who met at the gym last month are singing it like they shared a bedroom wall in 1994. Nobody is shopping. They are remembering, and any brand already living in that memory gets welcomed in rather than tolerated.

So CONNECT suits brands with a past: retro lollies, throwback soft drinks, reissued fragrances, revival fashion, retro hits radio, and Cairns businesses old enough to star in locals' own memories. Picture a family bakery that fed the city through the 90s owning the sponsored anthem at an 80s and 90s singalong, with a card in the bag inviting guests back for the pie their dad used to buy on a Saturday. More on why heritage brands love peak nostalgia makers sits on the hub.

Cairns questions, answered straight

How do we stand out in a city already full of tourism advertising?

By not talking to tourists. Much of the advertising in Cairns is pitched at people flying home on Friday. A Paint night is wall to wall with locals who'll still be here next month and next year. You're not one more flyer in a rack, you're part of a night they'll talk about at work on Monday.

Is the wet season a problem for a Cairns campaign?

Not for the night itself. Paint nights are held inside the venue, so a downpour outside only makes the room feel cosier. If your campaign includes a street crew the day before, we plan around the weather with a wet weather fallback agreed up front. The bigger point is your offer: give it enough weeks to survive a cyclone watch or a flooded road, so she can still use it when the sun comes back.

Paint isn't based in Cairns. Will locals see our brand as tagging along with outsiders?

Locals have already made Paint their own, from the northern beaches to the southern suburbs. Paint is fully mobile, so we bring the whole night to far north venues. And Entertainment Juicy, the family behind Paint, also runs Cairns Tourism, so this city is part of our patch, not a stop on the way past.

How big can a Paint night get, and what does that mean for Cairns?

Big. Paint's largest public room in the last two years booked 151, and regional Queensland keeps up, with Yeppoon, Bundaberg and Hervey Bay each hitting the 100 mark. We never promise a Cairns number before the tickets sell. We match your goal to the right far north night, then report the paid seats honestly once the doors close.

Can our reef trip, rainforest day or island stay be the prize?

Yes, and an experience makes a cracking prize. In Cairns it does double duty, because the lucky guest may well bring visiting family back to you later. Prizes go on skill, such as the best trivia score or the canvas the room cheers loudest for, never on chance. You set the booking terms, and we make sure the top table knows how to redeem it.

Can our brand appear at a private Cairns hens or birthday night?

Private nights belong to whoever booked them, so a brand only turns up with the host's say-so, and only as a gift for the group, never signage or selling. Most CONNECT work happens at public nights. If your business suits celebrations, such as a florist, a cake maker or a stay, tell us and we'll talk through what's possible.

Your move

Put your name on the next Cairns chorus
