Friday night at the Keppel Bay Sailing Club, two decades of choruses you never actually forgot, live vocals from Lotti Rem and a red sky peacock going up on your canvas in cobalt and gold. You leave with a finished painting, a sore voice and a far better Friday than the one you had planned.

What this night is
This is not a hushed little painting workshop. This is a Paint Juicy night. Big energy, bigger music, and a room laughing at its own canvases by the second hour, in a sailing club on Anzac Parade, and a Friday on the Capricorn Coast is about to get a great deal louder.
Lotti Rem is on live vocals the whole way through, so the singalong has a real voice out front rather than a playlist and a hopeful nudge. Your host guides every brushstroke on the mic, so nobody gets stranded at step four. Natural breaks between layers give everyone time to grab a drink, take photos and get their breath back before the next big chorus lands.
The playlist runs the pub rock and big pop of the 80s early, then slides into the 90s once the room has loosened up and the paint is flowing. Friend groups, mums and daughters, neighbours who have been meaning to organise something for months, they all end up singing the same chorus by the end.
A 6pm Friday start is exactly the right way to open a weekend. Brushes down around 9pm with the night still young enough to keep going. Easy for Cooee Bay, Lammermoor, Taranganba, Barmaryee and Emu Park, and a straight run over from Rockhampton. Every other Yeppoon paint and sip date is on the local page, and everything else coming up sits across the rest of Queensland.

A cobalt and midnight blue peacock stands in profile against a sky of pure red, with long green and gold tail feathers sweeping across the canvas and bright yellow eyes at their tips. Red against blue is the loudest colour pairing there is, which is exactly why it suits this night. The feathers go on as long confident strokes rather than fiddly detail, so it moves faster than it looks and finishes far more impressive than you expect. It will be the loudest thing on your wall, and that is a compliment.

Before you arrive
Arrive a few minutes early. Sort your drinks at the bar and find your seat before painting starts at 6pm.
Wear clothes you do not mind painting in. We supply aprons but acrylic paint is enthusiastic and occasionally ambitious.
Dress ups are absolutely welcomed. Neon, shoulder pads, denim on denim, slip dress and chokers. Pick your decade and commit.
Tickets are online only and they are not sold at the door, so book before the night.

Who is singing?
Lotti Rem, live on the mic for the full session, working the 80s and 90s catalogue while you paint. Live singing, not a speaker in the corner.
What are we painting?
A cobalt blue peacock against a red sky, with green and gold tail feathers sweeping across the canvas. If you want to tweak the colours to suit your lounge room, say so on the night and we will help you shift them, no extra charge.
Is singing along optional?
Technically yes. Realistically you will not resist. Expect call and response moments and choruses you forgot you knew every word to.
What time does it finish?
Painting starts at 6pm and runs up to 3 hours, so brushes are down around 9pm.
Do I need painting experience?
None at all. We guide every step from blank canvas to finished painting, and the tail feathers that look complicated go on one confident stroke at a time.
Is this good for a hens or birthday group?
Absolutely. Hens parties and birthdays are the two most common private bookings we run. Add a note at checkout if you are celebrating and we will give the guest of honour a shout out on the night.
Can I come alone?
Yes, and plenty of people do. We seat you with other friendly humans so you are part of it from the first song.
Can groups who book separately sit together?
Yes. Add a note at checkout with the name of your group and we will seat you together.
Can I BYO food or drinks?
No BYO. The Keppel Bay Sailing Club has a bar, so grab your drinks there on the night.
Can we book the whole room instead?
Yes. Private sessions are $700 AUD flat for the first 10 guests and $65 per additional guest, with a minimum of 10 paid guests. Send us the details and we will sort a date.
Where do I buy tickets?
Right here on the Paint Juicy website. Tickets are not sold at the door, so book your seat online before the night.
