What this night is
Every dancing queen in Port Macquarie, this one is yours. Up to 3 hours at the Tacking Point Tavern on Ocean Drive belting out Waterloo, Mamma Mia and Gimme Gimme Gimme while you paint, sip and laugh your way through a fully hosted paint and sip party. Big choruses, key changes you have no business attempting, and zero judgement from anyone.
Lotti Rem is on live vocals all night, so the singalong is not a playlist and a hopeful nudge, it is a real voice leading the room. Roughly seven songs in ten are ABBA. The rest is the cheeky detour, Boney M, the Bee Gees, a bit of Olivia and Love Is In The Air, because even a Super Trouper needs a breather and paint needs a minute to dry between layers.
This is not a hushed little painting workshop. It is a proper night out on the Mid North Coast with the volume up, guided painting from a blank canvas, and the kind of energy that turns a room of strangers into a room of best mates by the second chorus. Dress ups are encouraged, and this theme rewards them. Sequins, flares, platform boots, satin, go as far as you like.
Worth the drive from Lake Cathie, Bonny Hills, Laurieton, Wauchope and Kempsey, and the tavern sits just up the road from Tacking Point Lighthouse if you want to make an evening of it. Bar and bistro are right there, so come early for dinner and a drink.
It also lands two weeks out from Christmas, which makes it the easiest catch up you will organise all year. No cooking, no host duties, nobody stuck in the kitchen while everyone else has a good time. A cobalt and midnight blue peacock in profile against a sky that is pure red, with long green and gold tail feathers sweeping across the canvas and bright yellow eyes at their tips. Red against blue is the loudest colour pairing there is, which is exactly why it suits this night. The feathers are long confident strokes rather than fiddly detail, so it moves faster than it looks and finishes far more impressive than you expect. It will be the loudest thing on your wall, and that is a compliment.

Before you arrive
Arrive 15 minutes early. Doors open before we kick off and the bar is ready, so come in for dinner and a drink first.
Wear clothes you do not mind painting in. We supply aprons but acrylic paint is enthusiastic and occasionally ambitious.
Dress ups are absolutely welcomed and this theme deserves them. Sequins, flares, platform boots, satin, gold anything.

Host kicks off with Lotti Rem on live vocals, straight into the ABBA, and painting begins step by step from a blank canvas.
The middle hour takes the detour through the wider disco pile while your first layers dry, with breaks for top ups and photos.

Do I need painting experience?
Not at all. We guide every step from blank canvas to finished painting. If your last painting was in Year 8 art, you are overqualified.
Is it all ABBA?
Roughly seven songs in ten. The rest is the same lane, Boney M, the Bee Gees, a bit of Olivia and Love Is In The Air, so the room gets a breather without the mood dropping.
Who is singing?
Lotti Rem is on live vocals for the full session. Live singing, not a speaker in the corner.
What are we painting?
A peacock in profile against a red sky, cobalt blue through the body with long green and gold tail feathers. Bold shapes, big colour, nothing fiddly. Colours can be tweaked to suit you at no extra charge.
Is singing along optional?
Technically yes. Realistically you will not resist. There is no known human defence against the second half of Waterloo.
Do I have to dress up?
No, but the room is more fun when people do. Sequins, flares and platform boots all get a reaction. Come as you are if that is your preference.
Can we celebrate a hens or birthday at this session?
Absolutely. Add a note at checkout if you are celebrating and we will give the guest of honour a shout out on the night.
What if I am coming alone?
You are welcome. Plenty of people come solo. We seat you with other friendly humans so you are part of the fun from the first song.
Can I BYO food or drinks?
No BYO. Drinks are available from the Tacking Point Tavern bar all night, and the bistro serves dinner from 5pm, so come early if you want a feed before we start.
