Real nights, real canvases
Painted by real guests
Every one of these Prick My Interest cactus canvases was painted by a guest at a Paint Juicy night, one step at a time, somewhere between the singalongs. No art skills needed. Yours is next.

Every night's playlist is a little different, so treat this as the vibe, not the setlist.

What this night is
Friday night in Orange, with a singalong attached. On 20 November Paint Juicy rolls into The Greenhouse of Orange with its 70s and 80s singalong paint and sip. Painting starts at 6pm with a live singer up front and a desert sunset waiting on your easel. The Greenhouse sits on the rooftop of the Orange Ex-Services' Club on Anson Street, right in the middle of town, so getting there is the easy bit.
Expect the 70s to show up in flares, all disco strings and big harmonies, before the 80s barges in with pub rock choruses and synth hooks that refuse to leave your head. Your host talks you through the cacti one layer at a time, and the live vocals keep the room singing in the gaps while the paint dries. Nobody minds if you're flat, least of all the person next to you.
Friday is when the working week finally lets go, which makes this a good fit for workmates after a send-off that isn't another round at the same pub, or a group of friends who've been threatening to do something fun for months. The Greenhouse has a wine bar pouring local wines and a wood-fired pizza kitchen, so come early and there's time for a slice and a glass of something from the region before the first brushstroke.
It's a short drive in from Millthorpe, Spring Hill, Borenore and Lucknow, and not much further from Molong, Canowindra or Cudal. Solo bookers are welcome as well, because the singing does the introductions for you and you'll be seated with other guests.
Paint Juicy is working its way across the Central West that week. The Thursday before is an 80s and 90s night in Bathurst, and the Saturday after heads out to Dubbo, so a clash on the Friday doesn't have to mean missing out. The full lineup lives on the NSW events page.
Tonight's Artwork
Prick My Interest
A desert sunset that is all colour and attitude. The sky is painted in broad stripes, deep blue fading to turquoise, then tangerine, then a buttery yellow glow on the skyline. A white crescent moon and a few starbursts hang overhead. Two giant saguaro cacti stand tall in the foreground with their arms raised, while smaller ones keep an eye on things from the dunes behind. The sky goes on in big easy sweeps and the cacti build up in simple layers.

FAQs
Is there a live singer?
Yes. A live singer performs right through the night, so the 70s and 80s choruses come with real vocals leading the room.
What will I paint?
Prick My Interest. Stripes of blue, turquoise, tangerine and yellow make up the sunset sky, then two giant saguaro cacti go in up front with smaller ones watching from the dunes. The sky is mostly wide brushstrokes, and the cacti come together layer by layer.
How long does the night run?
Painting starts at 6pm and goes for up to 3 hours, which has you finishing around 9pm with plenty of Friday left.
I can't paint. Will I cope?
Easily. Your host shows each step before you do it and keeps the pace relaxed, so nobody gets left behind. Cacti are forgiving too, since no two are the same shape anyway.
What if I'd rather not sing?
That's completely fine. Plenty of people start the night as listeners and end up joining in by the second hour, but there's no pressure either way.
Is it weird to come solo?
Not at all. Solo bookings are common, and we'll sit you with other guests so you've got people to chat with between layers.
Can separate bookings be seated together?
Yes. Everyone in your crew should write the same group name in their "sitting with friends" note, and we'll put you together on the night.
Can I bring my own drinks or food?
No BYO. The Greenhouse has a wine bar featuring local wines and a wood-fired pizza kitchen, so food and drinks are there to buy on the night.
Does this work for a hens night or birthday?
It works a treat. Pop the name of whoever's celebrating in a note at checkout and they'll get a shout-out partway through the night.
Can I pay at the door?
No, tickets aren't sold at the door. They're online only, here on this page, so book ahead to be sure of a seat.
Can we book a private night for our group?
Yes. Ten paid seats is the minimum, the first 10 guests come to $700 AUD flat, and each extra guest is $65. Choose an artwork from our catalogue and we'll tweak the colours and details for free. Plan a private paint and sip.

"Joined the event at Gosford RSL, great fun and very relaxed event. Singer and entertainment was excellent, Trent and James very much enjoy what they do and this was great for the room! My group of 7 created 7 very different masterpieces. Recommend as a truly fun event - and go the whole way, get dressed up and just enjoy it all."
