80s & 90s Singalong Paint and Sip 5th November Armidale NSW 6pm
“The whole room felt like joy!!”
Thermie Carmie, five-star Google review
Real nights, real canvases
Painted by real guests
Every one of these Prick My Interest cactus canvases was painted by a guest at a Paint Juicy night, one step at a time, somewhere between the singalongs. No art skills needed. Yours is next.
Mixtape mood
Songs you might be singing
- Livin' on a Prayer, Bon Jovi
- I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Whitney Houston
- Don't Stop Believin', Journey
- Wannabe, Spice Girls
- ...Baby One More Time, Britney Spears
- Torn, Natalie Imbruglia
Every night's playlist is a little different, so treat this as the vibe, not the setlist.
Your Thursday night just got a serious upgrade. 80s and 90s bangers, live vocals from Lotti, step by step painting and a room full of people who know every word. You leave with a finished canvas and a sore voice.
Good to know: 18+ only. No BYO, bar at venue.
Recognised as a Best of Queensland Experience every year since 2022
What this night is
Armidale, this one has your name on it. On Thursday 5 November, Paint Juicy takes over Tattersalls Hotel on Beardy Street for a singalong paint and sip built on 80s and 90s hits, and the plan is to get a whole room singing while everyone paints a desert sunset they'll actually want on the wall. Tatts was established in 1854, so it knows a thing or two about a big night. We're just bringing the easels.
Lotti Rem is on live vocals the entire session, and that changes the mood completely. A real singer up the front gives every big-hair power ballad a proper lead, and even the shy ones down the back usually crack by about the third song. Your host talks you through every layer of Prick My Interest on the mic, from the blue to gold sky down to those two show-off saguaro cacti, so you're never left squinting at your neighbour's canvas wondering what happened.
The soundtrack opens in the 80s with synth pop and Aussie pub rock, the stuff your older cousins wore out on cassette, then slides into the 90s for boy band harmonies and girl power choruses once the paint's properly flowing. The drying time between layers is where the fun spills over, with a breather, a refill from the bar and, more often than not, a second crack at whatever song just finished.
A Thursday start at 6pm suits Armidale nicely. It's early enough for a drink at the bar before brushes go up, and the weekend hasn't swallowed anyone's plans yet. Uni mates, workmates, a mum and her grown-up daughter, or the friend who swears she can't draw a stick figure: all welcome. Booking on your own is completely normal too, and we'll pop you on a welcoming table. It's 18+ only.
It's a simple drive in from Uralla or Guyra along the New England Highway, and Walcha locals have happily travelled further for a lot less fun. Can't make Thursday? We head for the coast straight after, with a Friday night in Wingham and a Saturday in Lake Cathie. The Armidale paint and sip page holds every date in town, while the wider state calendar covers every NSW paint and sip night.
Tonight's Artwork
Prick My Interest
Think desert sunset with a bit of swagger. Your sky blends from deep blue at the top through a cool turquoise stripe and warm orange into a bright yellow glow, finished with a white crescent moon and some sparkling stars. Two huge saguaro cacti pose front and centre, arms up like they are mid power ballad, while a few smaller ones stand on the soft sandy hills behind. Bright, bold and much easier than it looks.

Arrive early. Tattersalls Hotel has food and drinks available, so come in for a meal before painting starts.

Dress ups are absolutely welcomed. 80s and 90s gear gets a big reaction from the room. Shoulder pads, scrunchies, bucket hats, go for it.
Tickets are online only. They are not sold at the door. Book yours online before the night.

FAQs
Who's on the mic?
Lotti Rem sings live from start to finish, working her way through 80s and 90s favourites as you paint, so every chorus has a real voice out in front of it.
What's going on the canvas?
Prick My Interest: a desert sunset that fades from deep blue through turquoise and orange into yellow, with a crescent moon, a scatter of stars and two big saguaro cacti striking a pose up front. It's a Paint Juicy catalogue piece and far friendlier to paint than it looks.
What are the start and finish times?
Brushes are up at 6pm on Thursday 5 November. Allow up to 3 hours, which means you're out the door with your canvas around 9pm.
I've never painted. Will I keep up?
Easily. Your host breaks the whole piece into small steps and checks the room is ready before moving on. Cacti are mostly bold, simple shapes, so there's no fiddly detail to stress over.
Is singing compulsory?
Not unless you want to. Lotti does have a habit of winning over the firmest non-singers by the second chorus, though, so don't be shocked if you crack.
Can I book just one ticket?
Completely. Solo guests are common at our nights, and we'll seat you at a table of welcoming people so you're never painting on your own.
We booked on separate orders. Can we still sit together?
Yes. When each of you checks out, write a matching group name under "sitting with friends" and we'll put you together.
Is Tattersalls BYO?
No BYO here. Tatts has its own bar and restaurant, so you can order food and drinks there on the night.
Bringing a hens party or birthday crew?
Bring them. Name the guest of honour in the checkout note and we'll make sure they get a shout-out during the session.
How do I get tickets?
Through this page and nowhere else. Tattersalls won't be selling tickets at the door, so book your seat here ahead of the night.
Could we have a private session instead?
Absolutely. You'll need at least 10 paid seats, and the price is $700 AUD flat for those first 10, plus $65 a head for anyone extra. Your group picks a design from the Paint Juicy catalogue, and colour changes cost nothing. See how private parties work.
