What This Arvo Is

We are back at Mayfield Bowling Club, Newcastle, and this time Santa sent a mixtape. Think big-haired power pop, girl-group bangers, 90s dance floor fillers and the Aussie rock you can still recite from the back seat of your mum's Commodore. Sprinkled through the set are a few Christmas carols, which is all the excuse the room needs to turn a Sunday afternoon into a full-blown festive knees-up.

Lotti Rem has the mic for the whole afternoon, and you and your mates are her slightly off-key but deeply committed choir. Your host walks everyone through the painting one layer at a time, and each pause while the paint sets is your window for another round, a group selfie, or one more crack at that high note.

Twelve days out from Christmas, it is a ripper pick for the office break-up that wants daylight and a decent playlist, the girls who have been promising a catch-up since winter, or a birthday that keeps getting swallowed by the silly season. Rock up with your whole crew, or book one ticket and we will park you next to good company.

Painting starts at 1pm and wraps by 4pm, so there is plenty of Sunday left afterwards. The club is an easy hop from Waratah, Islington, Tighes Hill, Warabrook and Mayfield West. Upcoming dates in the region live on our Newcastle paint and sip page, more festive sessions sit under Christmas paint and sip, the decade's other singalongs are in our 80s and 90s sessions, and the full NSW calendar sits on our NSW events page.

Today's Artwork

Lavender Sunset

This one is pure drama. The sky burns from deep crimson up high through tangerine to a gold glow on the horizon, with a few pale streaks of cloud drifting across. A soft white sun sinks behind a ridge of lilac hills, and below them the lavender rows fan out toward you in bold violet stripes, tipped with cream and lemon flecks that catch the last of the light. The sky is all big confident sweeps, and the flowers are quick little flicks of the brush, so it comes together faster than you would think.

"For someone who has never done anything like this before it was fantastic a great day. Lots of laughs in the picture looks alright."

Before You Arrive

→

Come in around 12:45pm so you can order a drink at the bar, grab a bite from the club and claim your easel before the first song.

→

That crimson sky gets everywhere, so skip the white linen. You will get an apron, but wear clothes that can handle a smudge.

→

Dressing up earns bonus points. Scrunchies, bucket hats, Christmas jumpers, light-up earrings, mix and match as you please.

→

Every seat is booked through our website ahead of time, so sort yours before the festive diary fills up.

Need a stocking stuffer? Our gift cards never expire.

How the Afternoon Runs

1

Find your seat, drink in hand. Easel up, canvas ready, brushes lined up.

2

Lotti kicks off the first anthem and your host gets that red sky blazing.

3

Pauses between layers mean top ups, photos and the odd Jingle Bell Rock moment.

4

Last lemon flecks in the lavender, one big group shot, and out the door by 4pm with your masterpiece and plenty of Sunday to spare.

FAQs

Who is on vocals?

Lotti Rem, singing live from start to finish, working through the 80s and 90s with a handful of carols thrown in.

What will I paint?

Lavender Sunset: a crimson and gold sky, lilac hills and rows of violet lavender. Keen on a softer pink sky, or a touch of Christmas green? Just ask your host on the day and they will help you switch the colours, free of charge.

Is singing compulsory?

Not at all. Most people cave by the second chorus anyway.

How long does it go for?

Up to three hours. Brushes up at 1pm, done and dusted by 4pm.

I have never picked up a paintbrush. Will I be okay?

Absolutely. It is built for first-timers, with broad brushwork in the sky and simple flicks for the flowers.

Can we do our work Christmas party here?

You sure can. Book the team in one hit, or ask everyone to pop your business name in the order notes and we will keep you on the same table. Birthday in the mix? Tell us and the room will sing it loud.

Can I book just for me?

Of course. Solo guests are always welcome and we will pop you beside a friendly crew.

My friends are buying separate tickets. Can we still sit together?

Too easy. Pop one group name in every order note and we will line your easels up together.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

No BYO. Cocktails, beer, wine and spirits are available from the club bar, and food can be bought from the venue.

Where exactly is it?

Mayfield Bowling Club, 2a Ingall St, Mayfield NSW 2304.

Do you run private sessions?

We do. Private sessions are $700 AUD flat for the first 10 guests, then $65 for each additional guest, with a minimum of 10 paid guests. Get in touch with your idea and we will lock in a date.

Where can I buy tickets?

Only here on the Paint Juicy website. We do not sell tickets on the day.

Roll in, walk in with a cane, bring your guide dog or grab a quieter corner. Your Paint Juicy night should be as easy and fun as everyone else's. This page covers what we already do on the night, how venues vary, and how to get the right seat for you.

What we already do on the night

When you book, open the "Anything that'll make your night easier?" box in your cart and tick whatever helps. It's optional, you never need to tell us why, and we only use it to plan your seat and your night. You can tick:

  • Easy access seat, near the door or aisle
  • Room for a wheelchair at the table
  • Near the front to see or hear clearly
  • A magnifier with a light for painting
  • A quieter spot, away from the speakers
  • A little extra help with the painting
  • Bringing a support person
  • Bringing a guide or assistance dog
  • Something we can't see. No need to say what (we'll quietly check in with you on the night)

Our team plans the room around those ticks before you arrive, and we'll never announce your needs on the mic or in front of your table. Rather chat? Call us on 1300 855 116.

Companion Card

Got a Companion Card? At public sessions, your support person comes free. Tick "Bringing a support person" in your cart, bring your card on the night so we can check it, and we'll save them a seat right beside you. No need to buy them a ticket.

Guide dogs and assistance animals

Guide dogs, hearing dogs and other assistance animals are always welcome, at no extra cost, and we'll have a water bowl ready. Please bring your animal's ID card if it has one, as some venues may ask to see it.

What access looks like in real life

Access means different things to different people. For some guests it's wheelchair access and turning space. For others it's avoiding stairs, needing stable seating, being close to the toilets, moving safely through a busy room, or being comfortable with the lighting and sound.

Mobility needs might include:

  • Using a wheelchair, walker, cane, crutches or other mobility aid
  • Injuries, chronic pain, fatigue or conditions that make stairs or long distances hard
  • Needing step-friendly access and stable seating
  • Needing a clear path to the toilets or exits

Sensory, sound and light needs might include:

  • Photosensitive epilepsy or seizure risk
  • Sensory sensitivities, including autism-related sensitivities
  • Migraines triggered by light or sound
  • Anxiety or PTSD triggers
  • Hearing sensitivity or hearing loss
  • Any other condition affected by lighting, noise or crowds

Why access varies by venue

Our nights happen in clubs, hotels, bars, function rooms and community spaces across Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Some are modern buildings with step-free entry, wide walkways and accessible toilets. Others are older buildings with fixed layouts, narrow corridors or steps at the door.

We don't own the venues, so we can't fully control their access. What we can do is check the details for you, plan the room around your needs, and tell you honestly what to expect. We know that for some guests a venue limitation is the difference between coming and missing out, so we take it seriously.

Before your night, we can check things like step-free entry, wheelchair seating, accessible toilets, parking or drop-off, lighting effects and sound levels with the venue for you. If we know your needs ahead of time, we can seat you with more space, closer to the door, away from busy walkways, further from the speakers or away from stage lighting, and help you find the easiest route to your seat and the toilets.

Sound, lighting and sensory considerations

Paint Juicy nights are vibrant and high-energy, with amplified music, microphones, singalongs and party lighting. Every venue is different. Some keep it simple, while others use stage lighting that can include flashing or strobe-style effects, lasers and bright LEDs.

That setup may not suit everyone, including people with photosensitive epilepsy, sensory sensitivities, migraines, anxiety or PTSD triggers, hearing sensitivity or other conditions affected by light, sound or crowds.

If that's you, please get in touch before you book. We'll tell you what to expect at that venue and do what we reasonably can, like seating you away from speakers or lighting. Because lighting and sound are partly controlled by the venue, we can't always remove every effect. By booking, you acknowledge these effects may happen at some venues, and we'll always be upfront about what's likely so you can decide what's right for you. Our sound and light page has a short summary.

What we can and can't promise

We'll always make a genuine effort to support your access and sensory needs. Because venues vary, we can't promise:

  • Step-free access at every venue
  • Accessible toilets at every venue, or that they're easy to reach during a busy night
  • Unlimited wheelchair spaces, as emergency exits must stay clear
  • That every barrier can be removed at older venues with fixed layouts
  • No flashing lights, strobes, lasers or bright LEDs at a given venue
  • A particular sound level, as venues and live nights vary

That's exactly why a quick message before you book helps. The earlier we know, the better we can look after you.

How to ask us

Send us the town and venue you're looking at, the date if you know it, and what you need, like step-free entry, wheelchair seating, toilet access, extra space, distance from the speakers or avoiding strobe zones. We'll check what we can with the venue and give you the clearest picture we can before you commit.

Email: info@paintjuicy.com.au
Phone: 1300 855 116

Frequently asked questions

Can you tell me if a venue is wheelchair accessible?

In many cases, yes. Message us with the venue and date and we'll confirm the access details we have and what's realistic for that space.

Can you reserve wheelchair seating?

Often, yes, depending on the layout and safety requirements. Tick "Room for a wheelchair at the table" in your cart, or tell us before you book, and we'll plan for it.

Does my support person need a ticket?

Not at public sessions if you have a Companion Card. Your support person comes free. Tick "Bringing a support person" in your cart and bring the card on the night.

Can I bring my assistance animal?

Absolutely. Guide dogs, hearing dogs and other assistance animals are welcome at no extra cost, and we'll have a water bowl ready.

What if I can't do stairs?

Get in touch before booking and we'll check whether the venue has step-free entry and access inside, or point you to a better fit.

Is there an accessible toilet at every venue?

Not every venue has one. We'll confirm what we can before you book.

Do your events use strobes or flashing lights?

Some venues use stage lighting, which can include flashing or strobe effects, and others keep it simple. If you're photosensitive, get in touch before booking and we'll tell you what to expect and seat you away from lighting zones where we can.

How loud are the sessions?

Loud enough for a proper singalong, with amplified music and microphones. If you're sensitive to sound or have hearing loss, tick "A quieter spot" or "Near the front to see or hear clearly" in your cart, or chat to us before booking.

What if the venue isn't right for me?

If we can't confirm suitable access or a comfortable sensory setup, we'll suggest another session or venue where we can.

Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Paint Juicy nights are loud, colourful and full of people belting out songs they swore they'd forgotten. These terms keep it that way for everyone. They apply to anyone who books, buys or comes to a Paint Juicy event, public or private. If you're booking for a group, it's your job to let your crew know these terms before the night.

Paint Juicy is a trading name of Entertainment Juicy IP Pty Ltd (ABN 33 657 295 139).

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms takes away a right or remedy you have under that law or any other law that can't be excluded.

The short version

  • Check the age rule on your event listing before you book.
  • Be kind, follow the team and the venue, and keep your hands to yourself.
  • We take photos and video on the night. Rather stay out of shot? Just tell us when you arrive.
  • Tell us about any access needs and we'll plan around you. It's always optional.
  • Cancellations, reschedules and refunds live in our Refund Policy.

Booking for a group

If you book for others, you're confirming they're happy for you to book for them and to share their names with us. Any names you pop in the "sitting with friends" note are used only to seat your crew together on the night.

Age rules

  • Check your event listing for the age rule, and if it isn't clear, ask us before you book.
  • Most public sessions are 18+. Some are open to guests 12 and over, who must come with a paying parent or guardian who stays with them at all times.
  • Bottomless sessions and life drawing sessions, including nude life drawing, are strictly 18+, no exceptions.
  • Private bookings welcome all ages, as long as anyone under 18 has a parent or guardian with them at all times. Private events with a life model or bottomless drinks are strictly 18+.
  • Anyone under 18 must never be left unattended before, during or after a session. Our team is busy running the night and can't supervise them.
  • The venue may ask anyone who looks under the minimum age for ID.

Alcohol

Only guests 18 and over can drink alcohol. At licensed venues, Responsible Service of Alcohol rules and the venue's own policies apply, and venue staff have the final say on serving. If someone appears intoxicated, Paint Juicy or venue staff may refuse service or ask them to leave.

How we treat each other

Most of our guests are absolute legends, and we want every single person in the room to have a ripper night. So:

  • Follow directions from the Paint Juicy team, venue staff and performers, especially safety directions.
  • Treat everyone with respect. Abuse, threats, violence, vandalism, theft or damage to property isn't on.
  • Consent matters. Never touch our life models or entertainers. With everyone else, get a clear OK first. Touching anyone intimately is never allowed.
  • Sexual harassment, unwanted contact, leering, explicit comments, stalking, or filming people without their permission is not allowed.
  • If you're asked to stop something, stop straight away.

Anyone who breaks these rules may be refused entry or asked to leave, and police or security may be called if needed. If a disability affects how you take part, let us know and we'll work with you on reasonable adjustments. What happens to your booking if that happens is set out in our Refund Policy.

If anyone deliberately or carelessly damages the venue, equipment or materials, the person responsible may need to cover the reasonable cost of fixing it.

Speak up, we've got you

If anything makes you uncomfortable on the night, tell a Paint Juicy team member or venue staff straight away, or email info@paintjuicy.com.au afterwards. Every report is taken seriously and handled as confidentially as we can.

Safety records

If a guest breaks these terms, is refused service or is asked to leave, we may keep a record of what happened, including names, the date, the venue and the details. We use these records to keep our team, performers, venue partners and guests safe at future events, may share them with a venue partner where that's reasonably needed to keep people safe, and delete them once they're no longer needed to manage the risk. Our Privacy Policy has more.

Many venues run their own CCTV. That footage belongs to the venue and is handled under the venue's privacy practices, not ours, and may be given to authorities if needed. Questions about venue CCTV are best asked of the venue directly.

Photos and video

Taken by our team

We love showing off your masterpieces, so our team takes photos and video on the night to share on our website, our social pages and sometimes in our ads. If we'd like to feature you front and centre in an ad, we'll ask you first.

  • Rather stay out of shot? Tell a team member when you arrive and we'll seat you away from our camera zones and do our best to keep you out of frame. Please steer clear of areas where we're actively filming.
  • We can't promise you'll never pop up in the background of a crowd shot. Once photos and videos are published or used in our marketing, they stay as they are, so the best time to tell us is when you arrive.
  • We won't feature a guest under 18 in our marketing without a parent or guardian's OK.
  • At life drawing sessions, guests must not photograph or film the model.

Photos you upload

Sometimes we'll invite you to share your photos through a QR code or link, including our Snazzy Times guest photo tool. Uploading is always optional. When you upload, you're telling us that you took the photo or have the right to share it, and that the people clearly shown in it are adults who are happy to be shared. You give us a free, non-exclusive, ongoing licence to use, edit and share the photo in our marketing, on our website and on social media. This can't be withdrawn once you've uploaded, so only share photos you're happy for us to use.

Access, support people and assistance animals

We want everyone at the table. When you book, you can tick anything that would make your night easier, like an easy access seat, room for a wheelchair, a quieter spot, a magnifier with a light, a little extra help with the painting, a support person or a guide or assistance dog. It's always optional and you never need to tell us why.

  • Companion Card holders: at public sessions, your support person comes free. Bring your card on the night so we can check it, and we'll save them a seat right beside you.
  • Guide dogs, hearing dogs and other assistance animals are always welcome, at no extra cost, and we'll have a water bowl ready. Please bring your animal's ID card if it has one, as some venues may ask to see it.
  • Venues vary in access, lighting and sound, so if you have mobility, sensory, sound or light needs, have a look at our Accessibility page and get in touch before booking if you'd like us to check the venue for you. Some venues use loud music and lighting effects, and by booking you acknowledge these may happen at yours.

Health on the night

If you have a condition, allergy or mobility need that could affect your safety at a session, we'd really encourage you to tell us before the night so we can plan for it. It's your choice. If someone becomes unwell during an event, our team will help where we reasonably can and may call emergency services.

Feeling unwell on the day? Please stay home, let us know, and our Refund Policy applies.

Food, drink and allergens

Food and drink at our events is provided by the venue and may contain or come into contact with common allergens like dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, fish and shellfish. Paint Juicy doesn't prepare it, so we can't guarantee any item is free of a particular allergen. Please check ingredients and preparation directly with the venue before you eat or drink.

Events, venues and changes

Our nights run in partnership with venues, and venue rules and staff directions apply. Sometimes we need to make small changes, like your seat, your host or performer, the artwork or the start time. If a change is a big one for you, like a start time that no longer works, tell us and we'll offer a transfer, a credit or a refund.

If we cancel your event or make a major change, like the date, the venue or the town, you choose: a transfer to a comparable date, a credit, or a full refund. Our Refund Policy has the details.

Private events

Private events are $700 AUD for the first 10 guests and $65 AUD for each extra guest, with a minimum of 10 paid seats. Pick any artwork from our catalogue and we'll tweak the colours and details to suit your occasion, free of charge, agreed in writing before the night. Add-ons like karaoke, tarot mini-readings, photo wall props, a photographer or a male life model are quoted separately and depend on availability and venue rules. Our life models pose nude at private homes and unlicensed venues, and in covered attire at licensed venues. The consent rules above apply to everyone, always.

Deposits, final payments, changes and cancellations are set out in our Refund Policy.

Gift cards and vouchers

Paint Juicy gift cards bought on our website never expire and can be used on any Paint Juicy service. Promotional vouchers from giveaways, competitions or partners (like radio) have their own terms and expiry dates, and can't be extended after they expire.

Only buy from us

Please only buy tickets from the official Paint Juicy website. We can't check or honour tickets resold on social media or other sites. If a third-party ticket turns out to be invalid, entry may be refused and we can't help on the night.

Responsibility

We'll always take reasonable care to run a safe night. We're not responsible for things we couldn't reasonably have prevented, like another guest's deliberate behaviour or someone ignoring safety directions. None of this limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

The legal bits

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, and the courts of Queensland can hear any dispute, though you may also have rights in the state or territory where you live. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Your event, your way

What Makes a Paint Juicy Private Event Different

A private paint and sip is your group, your venue, your playlist and your vibe from start to finish. Nobody shares the room with strangers. Nobody sits next to someone they did not invite. The whole session is built around your occasion, your artwork choice and the people you chose to be there. That is the difference between a public session and a private booking, and it matters more than most people realise until they experience it.

Paint Juicy private events work because the format takes all the pressure off the organiser. You submit the enquiry, we handle everything else. We arrive early, set up every canvas, easel, paint palette and apron, host the whole session on mic and pack down at the end. The singalong moments and games are built in. The energy runs itself. The person who booked it gets to be a guest at their own event instead of managing it from the moment everyone walks in.

We have run private paint and sip sessions for hens nights, milestone birthdays, corporate team building, work Christmas parties, baby showers, bridal showers, school reunions and everything in between. If you have a group of people you want to bring together and an occasion worth celebrating, Paint Juicy has a format that fits. All you need is ten people and a date.

Private Paint and Sip FAQs

What occasions can I book a private paint and sip for?

Paint Juicy runs private paint and sip sessions for hens nights, birthday parties, corporate team building, work Christmas parties, baby showers, bridal showers, school reunions, engagement parties, retirement parties, divorce parties, girls nights out and more. If you have a group and an occasion, we have a format that works. The session is shaped around your event, your artwork choice and your singalong era from start to finish.

How many people do we need for a private booking?

The minimum for any private paint and sip booking is 10 paid guests. That is the number that makes a private session viable and the number where the energy in the room really starts. Groups smaller than 10 are welcome to join one of our public sessions running regularly across QLD, NSW and NT, where your group still sits together and enjoys the same full Paint Juicy experience alongside other guests.

Do guests need any painting experience?

Zero. Paint Juicy private sessions are built for people who think they cannot paint, which is almost everyone, and they always leave completely shocked at what they made. Your artist guides every single step on the mic from the first brushstroke to the finishing touches. No experience, no skill level and no prior art knowledge is required. That is the whole design of the format.

Can we choose our own painting design?

Yes. Every private booking chooses from the Paint Juicy artwork catalogue, and there is a design to suit every occasion. We can also tweak an existing design to fit your night, think colour changes, a name or date worked in, or a nod to your theme. Every painting we teach has been built and tested to finish comfortably within your session, so nobody goes home with half a canvas. Tell us your occasion when you enquire and we will point you at the artworks that fit it best.

Where do you host private paint and sip sessions?

Paint Juicy is 100% mobile. We come to your chosen venue, whether that is your home, office, backyard, a hired function room, a licensed bar, a bowls club or anywhere else your group wants to be. We cover the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, Coffs Harbour, Darwin and more across QLD, NSW and NT. If you need help finding a venue, just mention it when you enquire and we will point you in the right direction.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

It depends on the venue. Paint Juicy runs sessions at BYO-friendly spaces, licensed venues, private homes and function rooms. When you enquire, let us know your venue preference or whether you need help finding one, and we will match you with an option that suits your group and your drinks situation. For home bookings, BYO food and drink is always welcome subject to the usual property rules.

What is the deposit and payment process?

A deposit of $300 secures your date and time slot and is due within two business days of receiving your invoice. The final balance is due 45 days before the event. From 45 days out, the deposit and any final payment become non-refundable. Rescheduling within 45 days of the event will result in the loss of your deposit. How far in advance should we book?

As early as possible, especially for weekend dates and peak periods like summer, Christmas and the lead-up to school holidays when private bookings stack up. Most private events lock in six to ten weeks out. Hens nights and milestone birthday bookings often come in further ahead than that. If your date is coming up soon, always worth enquiring - we will confirm availability quickly and work with you where we can.

What a fun night this was and the location superb. The guys mixed it up with music and jokes and we got to take home our masterpiece. Very helpful to us beginners while painting between laughs

I took my sister and my daughter along because they also appreciate 80s/90s music, painting and a drinkie. It was so much fun! Next time I want to open up the invite to colleagues at work!

We had so much fun at the 80s & 90s Singalong Paint & Sip in FNQ! We love a good excuse to dress up, so naturally our group went all in on the theme.

We painted, sang, danced and sipped the night away — and I may have even found my way to the spare mic at one point. 🎤😂

Such a fun night, lots of laughs, questionable artwork and plenty of singing. We had an absolute ball and would definitely do it again!

Brilliant evening of painting, singing and fun. Everything was well-organised from booking to taking home the artwork, the live band added an extra element and the hosts kept everyone engaged and inspired! A fabulous evening, will definitely book again.

We attended Paint Juicy in Yeppoon, painting the beautiful turtle. That's what drew me to this event - it's actually something I'd like to proudly show off on my wall. The whole team were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The instructors and helpers were really patient and made it super easy to produce our own artworks. The live musician made the whole atmosphere feel like a great big party of "friends we haven't met yet" while we were singing along to music that took us back to adolescent memories. And it was great to see everyone walking around admiring each other's paintings while they dried and chatting with their creators.
We had a ton of fun and despite not feeling like I'm particularly arty, I was really proud to have produced a beautiful keepsake and reminder of a great night out with friends. Thanks team, we will definitely keep an eye out for the next time you come back to Yeppoon.

such a great night out! Sore throat next day, I might have drowned out the Live entertainment (Sorry Lottie). I didn't think I could paint, but with expert guidance I nailed it. And so did Paint Juicy!

What a fabulous night! Paint Juicy were the perfect hosts. We were given step by step help to create a fun canvas. The materials were of a very high standard and our artwork turned out looking quite good! Singing along to 80s and 90s hits was a highlight. We look forward to the next time they are in Hervey Bay!
