Corporate Paint and Sip in Sydney CBD: Our MinterEllison “Under the Sea” Recap
And just like that, we wrapped our last Paint Juicy Paint Party for 2025 right in the heart of Sydney City, up high at MinterEllison.

If you’ve ever wondered what a corporate paint and sip in Sydney CBD looks like when it’s done properly, it’s this: a room full of legends, a skyline that looks fake, a theme that makes adults commit to costumes, and enough snack energy to convince you it’s totally normal to eat like a kid at a birthday party… at a law firm.
Quick recap
-
Location: Sydney CBD (MinterEllison offices)
-
Vibe: Corporate, but make it fun
-
Theme: Under the Sea
-
Dress-ups: Yes, people actually committed
-
Artwork: Great Barrier Reef scene
-
Fuel: Champagne, beer, and a ridiculous spread of food
-
Bonus chaos: Parking supplied… and I still forgot where the car was parked

The venue: Sydney views that steal the show
MinterEllison’s Sydney offices sit high enough that you get the whole “Sydney is showing off again” experience. You’re painting with Sydney Harbour sitting there like a smug postcard, and looking out over The Domain while crews were setting up for Carols in The Domain.
Corporate events in the city hit different. There’s a buzz to it, people are already in “we’re doing something special” mode, and the view alone makes everyone feel like they’ve upgraded their life.

The theme: “Under the Sea” and the best kind of commitment
This wasn’t a half-hearted theme where one person wears a blue shirt and calls it a day. Everyone dressed up as an Under the Sea character, and it immediately turned a corporate function into a proper party.
It’s honestly the easiest cheat code for team events: give adults permission to be silly, and they will absolutely rise to the occasion.

The painting: Great Barrier Reef, Sydney style
For the artwork, we went full Great Barrier Reef scene. It’s the kind of painting that looks vibrant and impressive on the wall, but still lets everyone make it their own.
Some people went bold and bright. Others went moody and deep-sea. Either way, it had that magic Paint Juicy thing where the room starts quiet-ish… then everyone gets confident, starts comparing colours, and suddenly the whole place is a happy mess.

Food and drinks: “Stop feeding us” (they did not stop)
There was champagne and beer flowing, and the food situation was elite. The team kept trying to force-feed James and me snacks like we’d been found wandering the CBD looking hungry.
We were also grateful that parking was supplied by the firm, because Sydney parking is basically a paid psychology experiment. Naturally, I still managed to forget where the car was parked. Absolutely nailed that.

The best part: the people
This group was warm, hilarious, and properly up for it. The kind of crowd that chats, laughs, gets into the painting, and actually enjoys themselves, without anyone acting like they’re above fun. That’s the dream for a corporate paint and sip.
Big love to the MinterEllison crew for making our final 2025 party feel like a proper celebration.

Why corporate paint and sip events work so well in Sydney
If you’re planning a team event, a paint and sip team building experience in Sydney works because it hits all the boxes without being awkward:
-
People can talk without shouting over a club playlist
-
Everyone participates at their own comfort level
-
It’s creative, but not intimidating
-
It feels like a “night out” not another meeting in disguise

Planning a corporate paint and sip in Sydney CBD
A few tips that make these events smooth (and actually enjoyable):
-
Pick a theme people can lean into (Under the Sea, 70s/80s/90s, Movie Magic, Aussie Rock, you get it)
-
Let the dress-ups be optional, but encourage them (people love permission)
-
Choose an artwork that’s bold, fun, and suits a mixed-skill group
-
Sort parking or access early if you can, because CBD logistics are a whole thing
-
Food and drinks on hand keeps the vibe light and social

Want Paint Juicy at your workplace?
We love private paint parties, and we especially love corporate paint and sip events in the city because it’s a different pace to touring, and it feels like a proper occasion.
If you’re planning a Sydney corporate function, team building, EOFY party, or just want something that isn’t the same recycled dinner and speeches, Paint Juicy is built for it.
FAQs
How long does a corporate paint and sip go for?
Most corporate sessions are designed to fit neatly into an event schedule, with plenty of time for mingling, drinks, and a relaxed pace.
Do people need painting experience?
Nope. It’s step-by-step, and everyone can make it their own without feeling like they’re being assessed.
Is it suitable for larger teams?
Yes. Corporate paint parties work brilliantly for groups because the activity is structured, but still social.
Can you run a themed session for a corporate event?
Absolutely. Themes are one of the easiest ways to make the event feel special and get the team engaged fast.
Can we host it in our office in the CBD?
Yes. This MinterEllison session is the perfect example of how good an in-office CBD event can look and feel.
