South West Rocks Paint and Sip Recap: A full house, full volume, and blessed air con

South West Rocks came in hot. Literally.

It was one of those days where stepping outside feels like walking into an oven, but we were tucked safely inside the South West Rocks Country Club auditorium with the air con doing the Lord’s work. And thank god for that, because the place was packed.

This session wasn’t just “a nice little paint night”. It was a proper Paint Juicy party. A full house, big energy from the first brushstroke, and Lotti Rem on the mic making it basically impossible to sit still. There’s always a moment where the room shifts from polite painting to full-blown singalong chaos and South West Rocks hit that gear early.

The venue: South West Rocks Country Club understood the assignment

The Country Club delivered exactly what we need for a big session: space to move, proper seating, and an auditorium that kept everyone comfortable while it was stinking hot outside. That difference matters. When the room feels good, people relax, they have a laugh, they take creative risks, and they actually enjoy themselves instead of silently melting into their aprons.

Also, the layout was perfect for the Paint Juicy flow: paint, sip, sing, chat, paint again, suddenly it’s the end and nobody wants to leave.

The artwork: peacocks, but make it personal

We went peacock, and the results were unreal.

What always gets us is how different everyone’s version turns out, even when they’re all following the same steps. Some went bold and fiery with those punchy warm backgrounds. Others leaned into cooler greens and blues with more of that lush, layered look. And then there were the wildcards who decided the peacock deserved a full feature film aura, and honestly, they were right.

The feather details were the star of the night. Big satisfying shapes, heaps of colour, and that addictive moment where you add “just one more” and suddenly you’ve done twenty.

Lotti Rem live: the cheat code for a top-tier session

Having Lotti Rem in the room is basically cheating, in the best way.

Live vocals change the whole pace of a Paint and Sip. People loosen up faster. They stop overthinking. They start singing across the tables. Someone’s painting improves purely because they’re having such a good time they forget to be nervous about it.

South West Rocks didn’t just sing along either. There was proper dancing, proper carry-on, and that beautiful thing where strangers end up cheering for each other’s canvases like they’re watching the NRL grand final.

The vibe: full house, big laughs, zero stiffness

This crowd had the exact energy we love: plenty of laughs, plenty of banter, and that honest “I didn’t expect to be this into it” feeling you could see on faces all over the room.

It’s what makes these nights work. You don’t need to be “artsy”. You just need to show up, have a crack, and let the room do the rest. South West Rocks absolutely did.

The moments we’ll remember

  • Walking into a packed auditorium and immediately knowing it was going to be a big one

  • The instant relief of the air con when it was scorching outside

  • The peacock variations, especially the backgrounds people got brave with

  • The singalong moments where the whole room turned into one big chorus

  • The end-of-night glow when everyone’s holding their canvases like proud little show ponies

Thank you, South West Rocks

To everyone who came along, thank you for bringing the energy and making it such a bloody good night. You made it easy for us. You painted hard, sang louder, and left with canvases that looked genuinely impressive.

If you’ve got photos from the night, chuck them in the comments when you see this on Facebook. We love seeing everyone’s versions, and it helps other people realise this isn’t some stiff “art class”. It’s a night out.
