Woy Woy 80s and 90s Paint and Sip Recap at Everglades Country Club

Woy Woy doesn't do small. When 90 ticket holders piled into the function room at Everglades Country Club for an 80s and 90s Paint and Sip, the only fair description was loud, packed and dressed to the absolute nines. Specifically, dressed in shell suits, Memphis-print leggings, scrunchies, bumbags, and at least one fluoro jacket that had earned its place on a Friday night. Here's how the night at the Glades went down.

Ninety strong on a Friday and Everglades got the Paint Juicy treatment

Friday nights are supposed to be about winding down. Apparently nobody told the Peninsula. Tickets sold through the week, the room filled up fast, and by 6pm sharp the function room had a microphone, ninety easels, ninety blank canvases and ninety people who'd come to make some noise. The club's bar was open inside, the cocktail station was set up outside, and the dance floor in the middle was already getting the side-eye from early arrivals working out how soon they could legally use it.

The room layout did half the work. Ceiling height that lets the music breathe, a proper dance floor in the middle, sliding doors for the cocktail crowd and a bar that meant nobody had to walk far for a drink. Venue setup makes a difference and this one nailed it.

The 80s and 90s dressup game was completely unhinged

Paint Juicy nights live and die on the dressup commitment and the Peninsula turned up. The room had pink and yellow shell suits the colour of a Tip Top icy pole. There were Memphis-pattern leggings doing the lord's work in geometric pink, blue, lime and black. Bumbags worn unironically. Scrunchies up high. Doc Martens, hi-tops, Converse, fluoro everything. One guest committed to a black band tee, dark jeans and DMs and somehow looked more 80s than the people in actual shell suits. Another arrived in a wide-brim cap, neon Memphis-print leggings and chunky black trainers and held the bit from arrival to last song.

The fashion alone earned a chapter in the local history. Every Paint Juicy market has its own dressup personality. The Peninsula leans into colour, pattern and a healthy disregard for matching. We're entirely here for it.

Lotti Rem on the mic and a dance floor that refused to stay empty

On the mic for the night, Lotti Rem. Anyone who's been to a Paint Juicy session lately knows the energy she brings to a room and ninety people on the Central Coast got to find out in real time. Singalong moments built into every step of the painting. Dance breaks where guests left their easels mid-stroke and headed straight for the floor. Call-and-response choruses where the room hit every note and a few bonus ones nobody had asked for.

The 80s and 90s playlist did the rest. Bon Jovi, Whitney, Cyndi, INXS, Madonna, the Bangles, Tina, Cher, Wham, Salt-N-Pepa, the lot. Three hours of choruses, very loud, very Friday, very Woy Woy. The dance floor was active from track one and stayed active until pack-down.

Bar inside, cocktails outside, the easiest flow on the Coast

The function room layout just works for a paint and sip night. Easels and the dance floor inside, the full club bar accessible without leaving the building, a separate cocktail station set up outside for guests who wanted to step out for a fresh-air spritz between brushstrokes. Nobody had to queue too long, nobody got stuck in a tight spot, and the venue staff kept the whole thing humming from start to finish.

Painting peacocks while belting every chorus

The Friday night artwork was the Paint Juicy peacock, the signature painting for our 80s and 90s sessions. Big regal peacock head front and centre, fan of feathers in the background, plenty of room for personal colour calls in the eye spots and the body. Some guests went bold blue with neon green flicks. Some went lavender and copper. Some painted theirs up so close to the demonstration canvas that you could line them up in a row and they'd pass for a print run. Everyone left with a finished canvas and a sore voice. That's the Paint Juicy promise and the Peninsula held it up.

For a beginner-friendly painting, the peacock punches well above its weight. The composition looks intricate. The step-by-step makes it very achievable. By the third layer most of the room had moved past the "I can't paint" disclaimer and into "actually mine looks pretty good" territory. That's the moment we're chasing every single session.

Three hours, one canvas, a lot of singing, no art school energy. We bring everything: easels, canvases, paints, brushes, aprons, the lights, the sound, the lot. You bring your group, your favourite drink and a willingness to belt out a chorus when the moment calls for it. Paint Juicy is 100% mobile. We come to the venue, set up around you and pack down at the end.

Public sessions are $59 per person standard. Bottomless sessions at licensed venues are $99 and the venue handles the food and drinks. All events are 18+. Nude life drawing and bottomless sessions are strictly 18+ for obvious reasons.
