Saturday night at the Allenstown Hotel, up to 3 hours of ABBA with a cheeky detour through the rest of the disco pile. Live vocals from Lotti Rem, step by step painting, and a field of lavender glowing under a sunset sky on your canvas. You leave with a finished painting and a voice that has given everything to Waterloo.

What this night is
Rocky, the dancing queens have arrived. Up to 3 hours at the Allenstown Hotel on Upper Dawson Road belting out Mamma Mia, Super Trouper and Gimme Gimme Gimme while you paint, sip and laugh through a fully hosted paint and sip party. Big choruses, key changes nobody should attempt sober, and zero judgement from anyone in the room.
Lotti Rem is on live vocals the whole way through, so the singalong has a real voice out front rather than a playlist and a hopeful nudge. Roughly seven songs in ten are ABBA. The rest is the cheeky detour, Boney M, the Bee Gees, a bit of Olivia and Love Is In The Air, because even a disco diva needs a breather and paint needs a minute to dry between layers.
This is not a hushed little painting workshop. It is a Saturday night in Central Queensland with the volume up, guided painting from a blank canvas, and the kind of energy that turns a table of strangers into a table of best mates by the second chorus. Dress ups are encouraged and this theme rewards them. Sequins, flares, platform boots, satin, go as far as your wardrobe allows.
A 5pm start means brushes down around 8pm with the whole night still ahead of you. Easy for Wandal, The Range, Depot Hill, Berserker and Gracemere, and an easy drive in from Yeppoon and the Capricorn Coast for anyone who missed the Friday night out there.

Lavender Fields
Rows of violet lavender roll towards a low blue horizon, with a sunset sky melting from pink into orange and gold above them and a small stand of trees on the ridge. The flowers go on as quick dabs of purple, pink and peach rather than anything fiddly, so the field fills up fast and looks properly impressionist by the end. It is calm, it is romantic, and it is the prettiest thing you will ever paint while screaming Dancing Queen.

Before you arrive
Arrive a little early. Grab a drink at the bar, or a steak at Graziers Steakhouse, and find your seat before painting starts at 5pm.
Wear clothes you do not mind painting in. We supply aprons but acrylic paint is enthusiastic and occasionally ambitious.
Dress ups are absolutely welcomed and this theme deserves them. Sequins, flares, platform boots, satin, gold anything.

The middle hour takes the detour through the wider disco pile while your sky dries, with breaks for top ups and photos.

FAQs
Do I need painting experience?
Not at all. We guide every step from blank canvas to finished painting. If your last painting was in Year 8 art, you are overqualified.
Is it all ABBA?
Roughly seven songs in ten. The rest stays in the same lane, Boney M, the Bee Gees, a bit of Olivia and Love Is In The Air, so the room gets a breather without the mood dropping.
Who is singing?
Lotti Rem is on live vocals for the full session. Live singing, not a speaker in the corner.
What are we painting?
Lavender Fields, rows of purple lavender under a pink and orange sunset with a few trees on the horizon. Loose dabs, big colour, nothing fiddly. If you want the colours tweaked to suit your lounge room, say so on the night and we will help you shift them, no extra charge.
What time does it finish?
Painting starts at 5pm and runs up to 3 hours, so brushes are down around 8pm.
Is singing along optional?
Technically yes. Realistically you will not resist. There is no known human defence against the second half of Waterloo.
Do I have to dress up?
No, but the room is more fun when people do. Sequins, flares and platform boots all get a reaction. Come as you are if that is your preference.
Can we celebrate a hens or birthday at this session?
Absolutely. Add a note at checkout if you are celebrating and we will give the guest of honour a shout out on the night.
What if I am coming alone?
You are welcome. Plenty of people come solo. We seat you with other friendly humans so you are part of the fun from the first song.
Can I BYO food or drinks?
No BYO. The Allenstown Hotel bar is open all night, and Graziers Steakhouse is right there if you want a feed before or after we paint.
Where do I buy tickets?
Right here on the Paint Juicy website. Tickets are not sold at the door.
Can we book the whole room instead?
Yes. Private sessions are $700 AUD flat for the first 10 guests and $65 per additional guest, with a minimum of 10 paid guests. Send us the details and we will sort a date.
