“The whole room felt like joy!!”
Thermie Carmie, five-star Google review
Friday night at St Marys Leagues is about to get loud. Lotti Rem on live vocals, a setlist stacked with the songs you taped off the radio, and a sea turtle on your easel that looks far harder than it is. Up to 3 hours, one canvas and a chorus you will still be humming on Monday.
Good to know: 18+ only. No BYO, the club has its own restaurants and bars.

What this night is
St Marys, this is our first night in your patch and we are not easing in. We are taking over St Marys Leagues on a Friday, painting from 6pm, with the working week firmly behind you and the whole weekend still to come. On the menu: big hair pop, frosted tip boy bands and their key changes, the girl group dance routine you still half remember, and the power ballad your table will attempt in full whether or not anyone can actually hit the note.
Lotti Rem is on the mic all night, and a real voice in the room changes everything. Nobody is murmuring along to a speaker in the corner. The whole room sings back. Between songs your host breaks the painting into easy stages, and every pause while the paint dries is when the singing gets loudest.
Round up the netball girls, your sister and her best friend, or the group chat that has been definitely doing something soon since winter. Flying solo works too. Book a seat and we will put you beside good people.
You are done by about 9pm. St Marys Leagues sits a short drive from Mount Druitt, Penrith, Werrington, Colyton, Oxley Park, Claremont Meadows and Erskine Park. Keen for a double header? The very next night we swap to the 70s and 80s at our Penrith singalong, and on Sunday arvo, 24 January, we are back in the 80s and 90s at Quakers Hill. The decade's other dates live under 80s and 90s singalong sessions, and everything happening across the state is on our NSW events.
Tonight's Artwork
Sea Turtle
It starts with water. You sweep turquoise and deep ocean blue across the canvas while the opening songs get everyone loose. Then the turtle glides in, sandy cream and freckled with brown, wearing the smuggest little smile in the sea. The shell is the showstopper, a stained glass mosaic of rose pink, coral, orange and lime glowing out from a pale gold centre, every panel outlined in deep navy. A few bubbles float off into the corners to finish. It looks like hours of fiddly detail. It is not. Each panel goes on as one simple shape and the colour blends inside it, so it looks gallery ready even if the last thing you painted was the back fence.

Before you arrive
Rock up 15 minutes early, grab a drink at the bar and get comfy before painting kicks off at 6pm.
Hungry? The club has its own restaurants, including Ironbark Smokehouse and the Signatures Buffet, so check the club's dining times and plan a bite before 6pm.
Wear something you would not cry over. We hand out aprons, but turquoise paint has a way of finding sleeves.
Dress ups are very welcome. Fluoro, crimped hair, bucket hats, a pair of platform sneakers if you never threw them out. Go all in.
Tickets are online only and never sold at the door, so book your seat before Friday rolls around.
Buying this as a gift? We have gift cards that never expire.

Arrive, get a drink in hand and find your easel. Paints, brushes and apron are sitting there ready for you.
Your host says g'day, Lotti Rem launches the first song and that big blue ocean goes down.
Pauses between layers for refills, selfies and the choruses nobody admits they still know by heart.
Final shell panels, group photo, and out you go into Friday night with a turtle under your arm and a voice that needs a lie down.
FAQs
Who is singing?
Lotti Rem, live and all night, working through the best of the 80s and 90s.
What are we painting?
The Sea Turtle: a smiling turtle with a mosaic shell of pink, coral and lime, gliding through turquoise water. Fancy a different shell colour or a deeper ocean? Ask your host on the night and we will switch the colours at no extra cost.
Do I have to sing?
Nobody will make you. Lotti tends to change your mind by the second chorus.
What time does it finish?
We start painting at 6pm and you are done by about 9pm, up to 3 hours all up.
I have never painted. Will I cope?
Easily. The shell that looks complicated goes on one simple panel at a time, so complete beginners end up with a canvas worth hanging.
Can I do the Penrith night as well?
Yes. Friday is the 80s and 90s with the sea turtle here at St Marys, and Saturday is the 70s and 80s in Penrith with a different canvas. Book them separately.
Is it good for a birthday or hens?
Made for it. Pop the guest of honour's name in the checkout notes and we will give them a shout out on the night.
Can I come by myself?
Absolutely. Plenty of guests book solo, and we will seat you with a friendly bunch.
We are booking separately. Can we sit together?
Yes. Put your group name in the checkout notes and we will seat you side by side.
Can I bring my own food or drinks?
No BYO. St Marys Leagues has its own restaurants and bars on site.
Where is it?
St Marys Rugby League Club, on the corner of Forrester Road and Boronia Road, St Marys NSW 2760.
Can we book a private session instead?
Yes. Private sessions are $700 AUD flat for the first 10 guests and $65 per additional guest, with a minimum of 10 paid guests. Send us the details and we will sort a date.
Where do I buy tickets?
Here on the Paint Juicy website. Tickets are online only and are not sold at the door.
