Armidale 80s and 90s Paint and Sip at The Welders Brewery Recap

Armidale showed up ready to party. Eighty guests filled The Welders Brewery for a throwback 80s and 90s paint and sip that ran warm, loud and happy from first brushstroke to final chorus. It was a Thursday night that felt like a Saturday.

The vibe

Playful and upbeat from the get go. Regulars claimed their favourite spots, first timers settled in fast, and the cheeky banter rolled across the room. We kept the guidance step by step on mic so everyone stayed relaxed, laughed hard and still walked out proud of their canvases.

Food and drinks

Unlimited pizzas kept the tables fuelled while the bar poured a great range of cocktails and beers. Quick breaks between layers meant top ups, photos and a chance to compare colours without losing momentum.

The art

Sunset gradients, bold outlines and nostalgic nods from the era. Guests mixed neon pops with slick lines and added personal touches that made each canvas instantly recognisable. The results looked brilliant lined up for the group photo.

Crowd moments

• A hens table nailed matching retro palettes with lyric quotes

• Birthdays went big on sparkly backgrounds with sunflowers

• First timers surprised themselves with clean shapes and strong colour choices for their sunflowers

• Many harmonies broke out during the singalongs with some very questionable lyrics haha!
