Dublin Docks Biggera Waters Paint and Sip Recap: Lotti, Loud, Lairy and Absolutely Lovely

Dublin Docks, Biggera Waters, you beautiful loud legends. What a night that was.

There are two kinds of Gold Coast Paint Juicy nights. The first is the polished Surfers Paradise weekender, big crowd, lots of hens groups, high polish, lots of glitter. The second is the proper local northern Gold Coast night where the crowd knows the venue, knows the staff, and treats a Paint Juicy session like the perfect excuse to turn a Friday into a Friday. Dublin Docks at Biggera Waters is firmly in that second camp. And that is exactly where the best nights live.

If you have not caught a Paint and Sip at Biggera Waters yet, this is the pitch. Top locals, top venue, top singalong, and a night that runs on pure good vibes from the opening track to the last brushstroke.

We rolled into Dublin Docks with Lotti Rem on the mic and the usual Paint Juicy kit. Lotti is always good value at a Paint Juicy session but at a northern Gold Coast venue like this she seems to lock in even faster. Maybe it is because the room feels more like a proper pub than a function venue. Maybe it is because she knows the Gold Coast crowd intimately. Either way, the set list was landing hard from the opening song.

The Singalong Was a Full-Body Event

Some singalongs are polite. Some are enthusiastic. Some are loud. The Dublin Docks singalong was a full-body event. By the second track the whole room was on its feet every single time the chorus came around, and by the third track even the tables at the back had given up trying to be reserved about it.

This is the Paint Juicy lane and this is where the format earns its reviews. When a room is singing along at full volume, the painting gets bolder, the brushes get more confident, the colour choices get braver and the whole night just gets better by the minute. Nobody is looking over their shoulder at what the table next to them is painting. Nobody is worrying about getting it "right". Nobody is tiptoeing around the demo canvas hoping to match it exactly. Everyone is just in the zone.

Lotti was driving the whole thing from the mic and the crowd was absolutely giving it back. Dublin Docks was one of the clearest examples of Paint Juicy full-volume mode working exactly as it was designed to.

Karaoke, Because Of Course

And then the karaoke started.

A Paint Juicy session with karaoke moments built in is a very different beast to a standard paint and sip session. The idea is simple. In between paint layers you need to let the paint dry a little before the next step. Most paint and sip operators fill that gap with some polite chatter or a trivia question. We fill it with actual, honest-to-goodness karaoke, because it works about a hundred times better.

Dublin Docks took that format and ran straight up the middle with it. People who had been quietly getting into the singalong for the first hour suddenly wanted their own turn on the mic. Requests were flying in. Duets were being negotiated in real time. A few tables had clearly been quietly practising in the car on the way in and were very, very ready to step up when their moment came.

It was gloriously chaotic in the very best way. The kind of karaoke session where every performer gets genuine cheers rather than polite claps, and where nobody actually sits back down properly until the next paint step starts.

The Gold Coast Northside Knows What It Likes

Biggera Waters and the wider northern Gold Coast corridor are one of our quietly consistent markets. They do not get the same hens party traffic as Broadbeach or Burleigh Heads. They do not get the tourist overflow. What they do get is a crowd of locals who know their way around a good night out, who back their local venues properly, and who show up ready to go from the moment the doors open.

That kind of market is genuinely rewarding to run in. There is no warming up required. No convincing the crowd that the format is good. No first-timer hesitation. Just a room full of people who have either been to a Paint Juicy session before or have heard about it from a friend who has, and who are here because they decided in advance that tonight was going to be their proper night out.

The Biggera Waters calendar has been getting stronger every time we come back and Dublin Docks is a big part of why.

The Paintings Were Pure Northern Gold Coast Confidence

Northern Gold Coast crowds paint with confidence. We do not fully know why, but we have enough data points now to say it reliably. Biggera Waters was right on trend. The canvases coming out of Dublin Docks had bold colour choices, very little hesitation in the brush strokes, and the kind of finishing flourishes that only confident painters are willing to add.

A few genuine standouts on the night. One group had clearly decided as a collective that they were all going to take their guide painting in a very specific direction, and the results looked like a cohesive series when they held them up together. That is a coordinated move. Respect to them.

Every canvas went home. Every single one. Nobody ever leaves a Paint Juicy session without their painting, no matter how much chaos the night brought. The apron comes off, the canvas gets wrapped, the story gets told for weeks afterward.

Why Dublin Docks Is a Proper Paint Juicy Venue

The venue itself deserves the credit it is about to get. Dublin Docks has exactly the right shape for a Paint Juicy setup. There is enough space for the canvases, easels and painting gear without squeezing the bar crowd into the walls. There is a proper sound system that could handle Lotti's set without the music disappearing into the corners of the room. The staff were on point all night. And the atmosphere was already warm before we had even started setting up.

Put all of that together with a loyal local Biggera Waters crowd and you get the perfect Paint Juicy venue. The kind of place we want to keep running nights at for years, not just for one tour date.

We'll Be Back, Loud As Ever

Dublin Docks, Biggera Waters, thank you for bringing the loudest singalong of the month, the karaoke carnage, the confident paintings and the kind of atmosphere Paint Juicy was built for. You made the whole night feel like it was running itself, which is actually the best version of a Paint Juicy session. Everyone leaves happy, everyone leaves loud, and the host goes home grinning.

Keep an eye on the Biggera Waters Paint and Sip calendar for the next Dublin Docks date. We will be back soon. Count on it.
