Sold Out 70s and 80s Paint and Sip Singalong Lismore Recap
If you ever need proof that Lismore knows how to show up and have a proper night out, this was it.
We rolled into the Civic Hotel on a steamy, humid Thursday and somehow the crowd still turned up looking fresh, ready to sing, ready to laugh, and ready to paint something bright enough to be seen from space. It was sold out again, and it honestly felt like half the room had been here before, because heaps of you were returning from our other Lismore Paint Juicy events.
No Lotti Rem this time (our human jukebox was off duty), but the singalong energy still carried the whole night. The room did not need permission to have fun. It simply chose chaos, in the best way.

Quick recap of the night
Location: Civic Hotel, Lismore
Night vibe: Hot, humid, high-energy, very sweaty-in-a-fun-way
Theme: 70s & 80s Paint and Sip Singalong
Status: Sold out
Artwork: Our vibrant peacock
Special feature: Slushie cocktails, lots of them
Crowd: Beautiful people, big laughs, plenty of returning guests
Live singer: Not this one

The artwork: our vibrant peacock
This was the kind of artwork that rewards bold colour and zero hesitation.
Our vibrant peacock is a crowd favourite for a reason. It’s bright, it’s dramatic, it looks fancy even when you’ve had two slushie cocktails and your brush control is purely confidence-based. You can go classic with deep blues and greens, or lean into wild colour combos that make your peacock look like it belongs on a festival poster.
What we loved most was seeing how different everyone’s came out, even though we were all painting the same idea. Some went moody and rich, some went neon and loud, and plenty of you made the feathers properly pop. That’s the magic of a Paint Juicy session, it’s guided, but it still feels like yours.

70s and 80s singalongs, Lismore style
Even without a live singer on the mic, the Civic Hotel room still turned into a singalong in the most Lismore way possible: natural, unforced, and slightly unhinged (compliment).
There were plenty of those moments where one person starts a line, another person finishes it, and suddenly the whole table is laughing because they’ve just realised they know every word. That exact vibe is why we keep coming back to Lismore. You lot don’t sit there politely. You participate.
Slushie cocktails and a room full of laughs
The slushie cocktails were doing the rounds and, honestly, they matched the mood perfectly. Cold drinks, warm air, loud singing, paint everywhere (not in the drinks, hopefully). It was one of those nights where the room feels genuinely happy. People were laughing with strangers, singing with friends, and getting properly excited when their peacock started looking good.
That’s the whole point of what we do. It’s not a quiet little gallery where everyone whispers and pretends they’re in a gallery. It’s a night out. Painting just happens to be the thing keeping your hands busy between songs.

Why we keep loving Lismore
We say it every time, because it keeps being true: we love Lismore.
There’s a warmth to the crowd here that you can’t fake. The vibe is welcoming, people are up for a laugh, and the returning customers make it feel like we’re not just visiting, we’re coming back to our people.
If you came along and this was your second, third, or fourth Paint Juicy session in Lismore, thank you for making that loyalty feel real. If it was your first, you now understand why we talk this town up.
