Newcastle (Mayfield) Paint and Sip Recap: Movie Mania Night with Lotti Rem
Newcastle, that was one of those nights where everything just clicks. The Movie Mania theme always lands, but this one had that extra bit of spark. The songs were wall-to-wall bangers, the room was properly up for it, and by the end everyone had that “I came for a paint and sip and accidentally ended up at a party” look on their face.
Lotti Rem, our always-exceptional, genuinely gifted songstress, kept the vibes flying the whole way through. Then the dance-offs at the end happened and the room collectively lost whatever remaining dignity it had left. It was glorious. Like a goose with zero responsibilities. Hairy or not. Science can deal with that later.

The theme that never misses: Movie Mania
Movie songs are basically cheating, in the best way. Everyone knows the words, everyone has a favourite, and the second the chorus hits you can feel the whole room lean in like, “Yep. I remember every lyric. I’m not proud, but I’m ready.”
That’s why Movie Mania works so well at a Paint Juicy night. It’s not background music. It’s part of the entertainment. You’re painting, you’re laughing, then you’re mid-brushstroke singing like you’re auditioning for the role.
Lotti Rem brought the live magic
Having Lotti Rem in the room takes it up a level. She’s not just a singer, she reads the crowd, pulls the energy forward, and somehow makes a room full of painters feel like they’re part of the show.
You could see it all night. Paint in hand, shoulders relaxing, people getting louder, tables getting cheekier. That’s the sweet spot.
The artwork: theatre masks, skyline lights, and everyone making it their own
The artwork for Newcastle was a total winner. Those bold theatre masks (comedy and tragedy) sitting above a glowing skyline and that deep blue water. It looks dramatic, it looks “night out”, and it gives everyone heaps of room to play with colour.
Some people went bright and punchy with the purple sky. Others leaned moody and rich with the blues. The skyline lights came out different on every canvas, and that’s exactly what you want. Same guide, totally personal results.
The dance-offs at the end were unhinged in the best way
There’s a very specific moment at some sessions where painting stops being the main event and the room decides it’s time to move. Newcastle hit that point hard.
The dance-offs at the end were the kind of chaos you can’t manufacture. People fully let loose, laughing at themselves, backing each other, and turning a “Thursday night out” vibe into “someone’s playlist just became everyone’s personality”.
Newcastle, we’re obsessed
It’s the people, honestly. This session had that perfect mix of wholesome and feral (in a socially acceptable way). Big energy, big support, and everyone genuinely having a good time. That’s why we keep coming back.
