Orange, NSW showed up ready to relive the decade of mixtapes and after-school TV. We packed the room with colour, lined up the 90s bangers and took everyone through a simple shapes artwork so beginners and returning legends could paint, sip and actually finish with something they want to hang.

What we painted

We leaned into the icons that defined the decade:

• Cassette tapes and boombox shapes

• Game controllers and bold sticker motifs

• Bubble letters, graphic outlines and stuff that makes my fingers gets weird..

Everything followed our simple shapes method: block in colour, build clean layers, add confident line work. It is beginner-friendly, forgiving and perfect for a night out.

From TLC to Backstreet, from Aussie staples to movie soundtrack anthems, the playlist did the heavy lifting. Quick call-and-response breaks and a couple of lyric challenges kept the room loud in the best way.
