Penrith Paint and Sip Recap: Santorini Door Night
Penrith, you absolute legends.
This one was our version of the Santorini Door: bright Mediterranean vibes, big blue doorway, warm sunshine colours, and those “I swear I can paint” moments that somehow turn into “wait, mine actually slaps?”
We set up at the Penrith Bowls and Recreation Club, tucked into a private room that made the whole night feel like our own little party zone. No awkward dodging strangers, no weird background noise, just a room full of people ready to have a laugh and make something they can actually take home and hang up.
The painting: our Santorini Door
This artwork is one of those perfect Paint Juicy canvases. It looks fancy, but it’s forgiving.
You can keep it clean and classic, or go rogue with extra colour, bolder shadows, brighter flowers, and a sky that looks like you’ve got a private jet to Greece parked outside. Everyone’s version came out different, and that’s the whole point.
It’s not about “perfect”. It’s about the vibe, the progress, and the sudden confidence boost when you realise you’ve made a door look like a door.
The crowd understood the assignment
This group wanted to play, and they played well.
The singalongs were loud, the call-backs were flying, and the energy stayed up the whole way through. It wasn’t one of those polite little “tap tap clap” nights. It was proper Penrith fun: engaged, cheeky, and fully in it.
You know it’s a good session when people start hyping each other up unprompted and nobody’s asking “is mine bad?” because they’re too busy having a good time.

The club had a great selection of food and drinks available to buy from the bar, which made it easy for everyone to settle in and keep the night rolling.

It’s always the same magic: strangers rock up, everyone’s a bit unsure, then halfway through they’re laughing like mates and comparing paintings like they’re in an art gallery.
Penrith, you were a bloody good time.
