Why a Paint and Sip Is the Best Way to Say Goodbye
Farewell parties have a habit of being either too much or not enough. Either the whole pub gets invited and the person leaving spends the night making the same small talk thirty times, or three people quietly take them out for one drink and everyone pretends that counts. A paint and sip lands squarely in the middle. Intimate enough to feel personal, structured enough to feel like a proper send-off, and every guest walks away with a canvas to remember the night.
A good farewell needs one thing above everything else: the person leaving needs to feel seen. A paint and sip does that by design. Your artist hosts the entire session and can run a group moment where every guest shares a single sentence about the person. It lands. It is not a stilted speech. It is woven into a session that already has momentum. Nobody is stood awkwardly tapping a glass.
Paint Juicy has run private farewell paint and sip sessions for teachers moving states, doctors relocating, mates heading overseas, colleagues leaving after a decade and mothers whose kids are moving to the other side of the country. The format adapts to the emotion. Upbeat when the move is positive, gentler when the goodbye is heavier. Either way, the canvas becomes a keepsake the person takes with them to their new home, and the group gets a night that felt like a proper send-off rather than a last-minute pub round.
Planning a work farewell rather than a personal one? The retirement party page covers the end-of-career send-off. The promotion celebration page covers the inverse. A farewell party sits in its own lane.
How Your Farewell Paint and Sip Runs
Lock In Your Booking
Submit an enquiry with your date, guest count, preferred location and any add-ons you want included. We confirm availability, lock in your artist, send a booking summary and share everything your group needs before the day. No chasing, no guest list spreadsheets, no last-minute confusion about what is happening.
We Handle the Setup
Paint Juicy arrives early and sets up every canvas, easel, paint palette, brush kit and apron before your first guest walks in. The venue is ready to go. Tables are laid out, the playlist is running low in the background, and everything is exactly where it needs to be. You show up, your people show up, and the event starts.
The Session Runs Itself
Your artist hosts the whole event on mic, guiding every step of the painting so nobody gets lost or left behind. Singalong breaks, games and cheeky moments are woven in between paint layers so the energy never drops and nobody is left staring at a drying canvas. No painting experience needed and no pressure to be any good at it.
Take Home Your Canvas
Every guest leaves with a finished painting they actually want to hang up, plus the photos and group memories that come with it. We pack everything down once the session wraps, clear the space and leave it how we found it. The organiser does not lift a finger. That is the whole idea.
Choose the Vibe for the Farewell Night
Pick a vibe that matches the person leaving. If they grew up on 90s pop, lean into it. If they are mates-and-beers rather than singalongs-and-prosecco, Aussie Rock is the call. If the move is bittersweet, Movie Magic reads softer. The theme sets the emotional tone for the whole night.
80s and 90s Singalong
The most requested vibe at Paint Juicy events. Big choruses, bigger hair in spirit, and a playlist that has everyone from the quiet one to the loudest one up and belting by the second song.
Aussie Rock
Cold Chisel, Hunters, INXS, Skyhooks and the rest. A legitimate crowd-pleaser and a brilliant choice when the group includes dads, brothers and husbands alongside the women of the hour.
Movie Magic
A themed painting with songs from the big screen running through the night. Works across every age group and every mood.
A Keepsake Canvas
A catalogue canvas chosen for the person leaving, with the colours and details tweaked to suit the send-off at no extra cost.

Farewell Party Session Formats
The standard two hour format. Painting, singalongs, games, one group moment for the person leaving. Tight, focused and emotionally honest without dragging the night on too long.
The three hour version. Room for speeches, a guestbook moment, slower pacing, more drinks, a proper gift presentation. Book this when the goodbye deserves the extra time.
How Much Does a Farewell Paint and Sip Cost?
Private farewell paint and sip bookings run on a flat rate for the first ten guests, with a simple per-person rate after that. Setup, breakdown, host, paints, canvas and the full experience are all included. No venue hire on top of us.
First 10 Guests
Flat rate covers the full session, all equipment, full setup and pack down, and your hosted artist for the event. Minimum booking is 10 paid seats.
Each Additional Guest
Per person after your first 10. Scales simply as your group grows, whether that is 15 guests or 50. Add-ons are quoted separately.
Groups smaller than 10 are welcome to join a public paint and sip session near you instead of booking privately. Public sessions start from $59 per person. Want to give the experience as a gift? Gift cards are available here. Every artwork comes from the Paint Juicy catalogue, and we can tweak colours and details to suit your occasion.
Optional Add-Ons for the Farewell
Mention any of these when you enquire and we will build them into your session.
Send Them Off Properly
Private bookings start from 10 guests. Tell us who is leaving, the date and the location, and we will build the farewell. Smaller group? Join a public session near you.
Enquire About a Private BookingFarewell Party Paint and Sip FAQs
How many guests do we need for a private farewell?
The minimum for a private booking is 10 paid guests. Smaller farewell groups are welcome to join a public paint and sip session across QLD, NSW and NT. Your group stays together and the moment still lands.
Can we make it emotional without making it awkward?
Yes, and it is something Paint Juicy artists quietly do well. A group message moment or a one-sentence-each round can be woven in between painting steps so it never feels like a forced speech. Your artist reads the room and picks the timing.
Can we do a farewell for someone moving overseas?
Absolutely. International move farewells are one of the most common. A painting tied to the new city or a keepsake canvas the person can pack in their luggage is popular. Quoted on enquiry.
What if the farewell is bittersweet rather than celebratory?
The format adapts. Gentler playlist, slower pace, more time for speeches, fewer games, less singalong. Your artist will set the tone from the first moment and the whole session feels appropriate to the moment.
Can the person leaving paint alongside everyone else?
Yes. They are a guest, not the host. The whole point is they get to paint, drink, laugh and be celebrated without lifting a finger on logistics.
Do guests need painting experience?
None. The artist guides every step on mic. Our easy painting guides show what total beginners walk away with.
Where do you run farewell sessions?
Across Queensland, NSW and NT. On the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Coffs Harbour, Darwin and more.
