What Happens at a Textured Art Session
A textured art session is a Paint Juicy night where the artwork sits up off the canvas instead of lying flat on it. Same three hours, same playlist, same host getting the room singing between layers. What changes is what your hands are doing, and what you end up hanging on the wall.
You build the piece up in layers you can actually feel. Run your fingers across the finished canvas and there are ridges, peaks and dips catching the light. It looks like something you bought. That is the part nobody is ready for.

What makes it different to a normal paint and sip
A flat painting asks you to fake depth using colour alone. A textured piece does not have to fake anything, because the surface is genuinely raised, so light and shadow do half the work for you.
Which is very good news if you have never painted a thing in your life. Precision matters less here. A line that goes a bit wonky reads as character rather than a mistake, and the canvas is forgiving at exactly the moment you are sitting there worrying about it.

You arrive
Grab a drink, find your seat, and your setup is already waiting. Nothing to bring but the people you came with.

The build
The host calls every move on the mic and the room builds the texture together, layer by layer. Nobody gets left behind.

The break
Texture needs a beat to dry between layers. That is where the playlist goes up, the trivia comes out and the singing starts.

The colour
Colour goes over the cured texture and settles into every groove, which is the moment it stops looking like a craft project.

The highlight
A dry brush skimmed over the raised high points. Ninety seconds, and it makes every ridge you built announce itself.

You take it home
Canvas in hand, on the night. First stop is usually the car park, where everyone stands around running their fingers over them.

Do I need to know how to paint?

What to wear
Something you would not cry over. Texture mediums are thicker than paint and they do not always come out of good fabric. There is a whole what to wear guide if you want to think about it more than we do.
What you take home
Your canvas, textured, finished and entirely yours. Every artwork comes from the Paint Juicy catalogue, and colours and details can be tweaked to suit the occasion at no extra charge, so a hens table can run the same piece in the bride's colours without anyone paying extra for the privilege.
Who books a textured art night
Hens parties, milestone birthdays, work teams who have run out of ideas, and groups of mates who wanted a night out that is not another dinner. It travels well as a hens party paint and sip, a birthday party or a team building session.
Smaller groups are welcome at any public session. If you would rather have the room to yourselves, a private booking is $700 AUD flat for the first 10 guests, then $65 per extra guest, with a minimum of 10 paid seats.
